health setback after her campaign to screen newborn babies for spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) secured a major breakthrough.<\/p>\n<p>The former Little Mix star said she \u2018can\u2019t stop crying\u2019 after learning all babies born in England will now be tested for the rare genetic condition at birth.<\/p>\n<p>However, Jesy said that the historic change is \u2018bittersweet\u2019 as her daughters, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe, are \u2018not great\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The 25-year-old said her twins\u2019 future is uncertain as medics are still assessing how much of their muscles died off before they were diagnosed late and then treated.<\/p>\n<p>Both Ocean and Story were diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1, the most severe form of the muscle-wasting disease, after leaving hospital.<\/p>\n<p>However, Jesy said that the diagnosis came too late after irreversible nerve damage and it is likely that they will never walk again.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container and Story\u2019s most recent three-month review at St Ormond Street\u2019s Children\u2019s Hospital where doctors warned that the girls were not responding to the treatment how they had hoped.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Unfortunately, some of the numbers have gone down,\u2019 she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We had a long discussion and there\u2019s a possibility they may have to go back on treatment, which is just heartbreaking.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I constantly battle between manifesting they\u2019re going to defy the odds and trying to come to accept that that may not happen.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It\u2019s a really weird position to be in because you you think \u2018well, if that doesn\u2019t happen, am I just going to feel heartbroken for the rest of my life?\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Then you worry, if I
