{"id":8158,"date":"2026-07-17T01:30:24","date_gmt":"2026-07-16T20:30:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=8158"},"modified":"2026-07-17T01:30:24","modified_gmt":"2026-07-16T20:30:24","slug":"wwes-ludwig-kaiser-blames-profane-ice-remark-for-apartment-beatdown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=8158","title":{"rendered":"WWE&#8217;s Ludwig Kaiser blames profane &#8216;ICE&#8217; remark for apartment beatdown"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script>\r\n  atOptions = {\r\n    'key' : '644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6',\r\n    'format' : 'iframe',\r\n    'height' : 90,\r\n    'width' : 728,\r\n    'params' : {}\r\n  };\r\n<\/script>\r\n<script src=\"https:\/\/www.highperformanceformat.com\/644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6\/invoke.js\"><\/script>\r\n<br \/>\n<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content%2Fuploads%2Fsites%2F2%2F2026%2F07%2F134610095.jpg?quality%3D90%26strip%3Dall\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A profane, ICE-related remark sparked the violent incident that led to WWE star <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/05\/21\/sports\/details-revealed-about-wwe-star-ludwig-kaisers-battery-arrest\/\">Ludwig Kaiser\u2019s battery arrest earlier this year<\/a>, the wrestler alleged in new court documents that were filed on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Kaiser \u2014 whose real name is Marcel Barthel \u2014 wrote in a motion to dismiss <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/05\/21\/sports\/wwe-star-ludwig-kaiser-marcel-barthel-arrested-on-battery-charge-in-florida\/\">his misdemeanor case<\/a> that Richard Reap initiated their altercation on April 23 after he got offended by the way Kaiser and his girlfriend had shown PDA in a community elevator at an Orlando apartment complex.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Ludwig Kaiser standing on the top rope WWE\u2019s Main Event at Madison Square Garden on March 10, 2025 in New York, New York. <span class=\"credit\">WWE via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Kaiser stated Reap told the couple to \u201chave some f\u2014ing respect,\u201d before he alleged Reap hurled a vulgar comment toward his girlfriend, who\u2019s of Mexican descent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHave some respect before I call ICE on that bitch,\u201d Kaiser claimed Reap yelled.<\/p>\n<p>The WWE star stated in his filing that he exited the elevator to tell Reap \u201chis statements were offensive and inappropriate.\u201d He then alleged Reap \u201caggressively\u201d raised his hands and got close to him, which caused him to act in self-defense.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Kaiser, \u201cin fear that Mr. Reap was going to batter him, pushed Mr. Reap away,\u201d according to the filing.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Ludwig Kaiser was charged with misdemeanor battery in May over the alleged April incident. <span class=\"credit\">Orange County Corrections Dept<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Kaiser claimed he then walked back into the elevator, but Mr. Reap approached again in a \u201cthreatening manner\u201d so he \u201cpushed him away\u201d once more.<\/p>\n<p>The nine-year WWE veteran alleged Reap threw a soft drink bottle at him during the dispute, but instead of escalating the matter, he stated he remained in the elevator and \u201cpushed the button for his floor and left the area.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In his motion, Kaiser argued the battery charge he\u2019s facing over the incident should be dropped because his use of \u201cnon-deadly force\u201d was justified due to the fact that he \u201che reasonably believed that using or threatening to use such force was necessary to prevent the imminent use of unlawful force against him or his girlfriend.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Ludwig Kaiser and Sheamus in action during Monday Night RAW at Ball Arena on September 2, 2024 in Denver, Colorado. <span class=\"credit\">WWE via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A judge was slated to rule on the motion at a court hearing on Thursday, though the\u00a0matter was ultimately continued to Aug. 27.<\/p>\n<p>Reap, according to an affidavit for an arrest warrant against Kaiser that was submitted to an Orange County, Fla. court in May, told cops the professional wrestler roughed him up after he had merely told the him and his girlfriend to \u201cplease have some manners\u201d following their display of affection in the elevator.<\/p>\n<p>Reap alleged Kaiser punched him \u201cmultiple times\u201d and pushed him to the ground as well.
