Multiple Democratic senators asked Clayton who won the 2020 election, but the nominee would only say that <strong>Joe Biden<\/strong> had been \u201ccertified\u201d as the winner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s kind of embarrassing,\u201d <em>NewsNight<\/em> host <strong>Abby Phillip<\/strong> said to <strong>Lydia Moynihan<\/strong>, a financial correspondent for <em>The New York Post<\/em>. \u201cIf he can\u2019t just state a fact, how can he do that other job?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI mean, he\u2019d been asked, I think, three times at that point, and he did mince words,\u201d Moynihan responded. \u201cBut there\u2019s a lot of theatrics at these kind of hearings. Jon Ossoff got his soundbite, and Republicans kind of do the same thing. They love to ask, \u2018What is a woman?\u2019 And Ketanji Brown Jackson couldn\u2019t answer. A lot of people still can\u2019t answer that question. So to me, it\u2019s theatrics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Moynihan continued with her point as Blow interjected:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>BLOW: Can <em>you<\/em> acknowledge that Joe Biden won the election?<\/p>\n<p>MOYNIHAN: Yeah.<\/p>\n<p>BLOW: So, you can do it just now, but he couldn\u2019t do it?<\/p>\n<p>[CROSSTALK]<\/p>\n<p>MOYNIHAN:\u00a0I know you\u2019re trying to get a social media clip, Charles, but\u2013<\/p>\n<p>[CROSSTALK]<\/p>\n<p>MOYNIHAN: I know you\u2019re trying to get your social media clip for the \u201cgotcha\u201d\u2013<\/p>\n<p>BLOW: Ma\u2019am\u2013<\/p>\n<p>MOYNIHAN: I answered your question already. And I\u2019m also not here to answer to you, so\u2013<\/p>\n<p>BLOW: I\u2019m happy that you told me that because I really appreciate\u2013 I\u2019m sorry. I really appreciate you lecturing me about what I\u2019m here to do, because I\u2019m here because Abby\u2019s show invited me here. And I have been in journalism for a very long time. In fact, I came to <em>The New York Times<\/em> the <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.nytimes.com\/www.nytimes.com\/ref\/opinion\/CHBLOW-BIO.html\">year<\/a> that you were <a href=\"https:\/\/factualwiki.com\/lydia-moynihan\/\">born<\/a>. So, I would choose\u2013 I would suggest that you choose a lane that is your own and stay in it. And don\u2019t lecture me because I won\u2019t be lectured by a child. Thank you.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>During confirmation hearings, Democratic senators have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blumenthal.senate.gov\/newsroom\/press\/release\/icymi-video-trump-judicial-nominees-refuse-to-answer-blumenthals-question-who-won-the-2020-election\">asked<\/a> Trump nominees about the 2020 election.
