The label will also release the soundtrack on CD and as a new 48-track deluxe digital edition packed with previously unavailable cues and score excerpts. <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/4pmaDh1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Pre-orders are available now<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The 1986 film marked the beginning of Badalamenti\u2019s decades-long creative partnership with Lynch after the composer was initially hired as Isabella Rossellini\u2019s vocal coach. When Lynch asked him to write \u201ca song that floats on the sea of time,\u201d the pair created \u201cMysteries of Love,\u201d performed by Julee Cruise. The collaboration ultimately expanded into Badalamenti scoring the entirety of <em>Blue Velvet<\/em>, launching one of cinema\u2019s most lasting director-composer partnerships. They would go on to collaborate on <em>Twin Peaks<\/em>, <em>Wild at Heart<\/em>,<em> Lost Highway<\/em>, <em>Mulholland Drive<\/em>, and several other projects, with Badalamenti earning a Grammy for the <em>Twin Peaks<\/em> theme.<\/p>\n<p>Related Video<\/p>\n<p>Blending ethereal lounge music, unsettling orchestral passages, and unforgettable songs like Roy Orbison\u2019s \u201cIn Dreams,\u201d the <em>Blue Velvet<\/em> soundtrack became as important to the film\u2019s atmosphere as Lynch\u2019s imagery.
