Democrats have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2026\/06\/01\/jill-biden-book-tour-2026-election-00944335\" target=\"_blank\">criticized her book<\/a> for rehashing the painful election and distracting from the party\u2019s future.<\/p>\n<p>Amid his 2024 reelection campaign, Biden dropped out of the race that July following questions from his party and others about his mental acuity and ability to lead. He endorsed then-Vice President Kamala Harris, who ultimately lost to President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2025\/09\/24\/kamala-harris-book-tour-democrats-00577679\" target=\"_blank\">bemoaned the memoir<\/a> Harris released in September for making digs at fellow party members and reopening the wounds of the 2024 election.<\/p>\n<p>The memoir will also cover his handling of Covid-19, the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, strengthening NATO and supporting Ukraine, according to the announcement.<\/p>\n<p>Biden had previously written \u201cPromise Me, Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship, and Purpose\u201d about his son Beau&#8217;s battle with cancer, and \u201cPromises to Keep: On Life and Politics\u201d about his political career prior to becoming former President Barack Obama\u2019s vice president.<\/p>\n<p>The former president also mentioned in the video that his prostate cancer treatment has been \u201cgoing really well.\u201d He revealed his diagnosis in May last year.<\/p>\n<script async=\"async\" data-cfasync=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/pl30214220.effectivecpmnetwork.com\/9ab3d4df8a7e1a6171e16ddbf732cc19\/invoke.js\"><\/script>\r\n<div id=\"container-9ab3d4df8a7e1a6171e16ddbf732cc19\"><\/div>\r\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former President Joe Biden on Wednesday said he is releasing a book detailing his presidency and his decision to run for reelection and eventually step aside, which will publish shortly after this year\u2019s midterm elections.
