According to producers, the series explores how \u201cambition and power can transform young men into dangerous forces against a backdrop of corruption and social upheaval.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe project, heralding from local outfit La Soga Producciones, is being designed as an eight-part series for a streamer but also as a feature film. The film\u2019s release is being lined up for July 28, 2027, Peru\u2019s Independence Day, via BF Distribution. A second season has already been written.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe large cast includes established Latin American actors, Peruvian talent and a bevvy of newcomers. Vets include Colombian actors Ana Maria Orozco and Christian Tappan, Mexican Flavio Medina, Argentinian Osmar Nunez and Cuban-American actor Oscar Torre. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe young protagonists include Mario Cortijo, Mathias Spitzer, Franco Pennano, Jos\u00e9 Miguel Arg\u00fcelles, Guadalupe Farf\u00e1n, Fabiana Valc\u00e1rcel\u00a0and Yahir Manosalva. The casting\u00a0process\u00a0is said to have taken two years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tFilming started June 1st in Lima, Peru, and will run until August 11th. The budget, sourced from domestic and international, is reported to be at the $1.8M mark, which is at the high end for a Peruvian film or TV project. Below are first-look images from the shoot.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe show is co-created and written by\u00a0Eduardo Carrillo\u00a0and\u00a0Eduardo Guti\u00e9rrez and is being directed by Peruvian filmmaker\u00a0Daniel Vega, whose 2010 film\u00a0<em>Octubre<\/em>\u00a0(<em>October<\/em>) won the Jury Prize in Cannes\u2019 Un Certain Regard section and whose 2013 drama <em>El Mudo <\/em>(<em>The Mute<\/em>) won Best Actor at Locarno.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tProducers are\u00a0Eduardo Carrillo, Gustavo S\u00e1nchez, Gianella Neyra, Vincenzo Gratteri, Gregorio Gonz\u00e1lez, Alex Zito, and\u00a0Joshua Friedlander. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tLa Soga is one of Peru\u2019s most established producers with credits including recent war-drama <em>El Coraz\u00f3n Del Lobo<\/em>, which played at international film festivals including Mar Del Plata and Malaga.<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-content-image \/\/  \">\n<figure class=\"o-figure   size-large alignnone lrv-u-max-width-100p\" style=\"width:100%;
