I want the severed head of Phil Collins in my fridge by the end of this decade. And if I haven\u2019t, I\u2019ll be a failure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gallagher continued to criticise Collins in interviews over the years, encouraging people to vote Labour in the 1997 general election to stop Collins, then living in Switzerland, from moving back to the UK.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned=\"\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DXGKFfGjiL0\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:658px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\">\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIf the Conservatives get in, Phil Collins is threatening to come back and live here. And let\u2019s face it, none of us want that,\u201d he told <em>The Guardian <\/em>at the time (via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mojo4music.com\/articles\/stories\/phil-collins-im-assuming-noel-gallagher-doesnt-really-think-im-the-antichrist\/\"><em>MOJO<\/em><\/a>). Collins subsequently hit back, dismissing Oasis as \u201crude, horrible\u2026 and not as talented as they think\u201d in an interview with the <em>Irish Examiner<\/em> in 2005.<\/p>\n<p>Now, speaking to <em>MOJO<\/em> in a new interview, Collins spoke about the forthcoming Rock &amp; Roll Hall Of Fame 2026 ceremony and the possibility of bumping into Oasis.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cThe [Hall Of Fame] inductees have all been invited to a lunch before the ceremony. Which will be interesting, as I\u2019m sure to bump into Oasis.\u201d said Collins who apparently learned more about Noel\u2019s \u201cantichrist\u201d comment after he allegedly told a writer that Collins\u2019 performance had scared him when he attended a Genesis gig \u201ccompletely out of it\u201d in the \u201980s.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Genesis - Mama (Official Music Video)\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Ccs2rt0oSzQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow I\u2019ve thought this through and although Noel didn\u2019t specify what song it was, I reckon it was [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/genesis\">Genesis<\/a> single] \u2018Mama\u2019, where I go (recites the lyric) \u2018<em>Ha-ha-ha\u2026 Oww<\/em>,\u2019 with the light under my face,\u201d added Collins. \u201cI think \u2018Mama\u2019 is why Noel called me the antichrist. But I\u2019m giving him the benefit of the doubt here, and assuming he doesn\u2019t really think I\u2019m the antichrist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Noel is yet to respond publicly to Collins\u2019 comments.<\/p>\n<p>This year sees a total of six British acts being inducted, breaking the previous record of five British names entering the Rock Hall in a single year. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/rock-roll-hall-fame-2019-inductees-announced-2420246\">In 2019, Radiohead, The Cure, Def Leppard, Roxy Music and The Zombies were all honoured<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Phil Collins was previously inducted as a member of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/genesis\">Genesis<\/a> in 2010. This year was the first time he was on the ballot as a solo artist. The two other first-time nominees in 2026 were Luther Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan.<\/p>\n<p>Oasis were nominated for the third consecutive year in 2026, following\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/rock-roll-hall-of-fame-2024-oasis-ozzy-osbourne-and-mariah-carey-among-nominees-3585620\">nods in 2024<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/oasis-new-order-the-white-stripes-mariah-carey-lead-nominations-for-rock-and-roll-hall-of-fame-2025-3837368\">2025<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Upon being nominated this year, frontman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/liam-gallagher\">Liam Gallagher<\/a> wrote: \u201cI wanna thank all the people who voted for us it\u2019s a real honour ever since I was a little kid and singing in the shower I\u2019d dream about 1 day being in the RnR hall of fame it\u2019s true what they say anything is possible if you have a dream LG x.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He had previously\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/liam-gallagher-blasts-rock-and-roll-hall-of-fame-as-full-of-bumbaclarts-after-oasis-nomination-3586039\">reacted to their 2024 nomination by writing<\/a>: \u201cFuck the Rock n Roll hall of fame its full of BUMBACLARTS\u201d.
