After years of bringing Beth Dutton to life through Sheridan&#8217;s writing, she wasn&#8217;t sure the series would work without his creative voice leading the way.<\/p>\n<p>But after making it through the first season, Reilly says things are changing again \u2014 and Sheridan is ready to become much more involved in Season 2.<\/p>\n<h3>A Big Change<\/h3>\n<p>Speaking\u00a0<span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">to<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-features\/dutton-ranch-season-2-kelly-reilly-cole-hauser-sheridan-1236639158\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>\u00a0The<\/em><\/a><\/span><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-features\/dutton-ranch-season-2-kelly-reilly-cole-hauser-sheridan-1236639158\/\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0Hollywood Reporter<\/a>,<\/em> Reilly admitted she wasn&#8217;t sure what <em>Dutton Ranch<\/em> would look like without Sheridan&#8217;s creative voice guiding the series.<\/p>\n<p><b><em>Read More:<\/em>\u00a0<\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/tasteofcountry.com\/taylor-sheridan-landman-the-madison-emmy-snubs\/?utm_source=tsmclip&amp;utm_medium=referral\" target=\"_blank\">Taylor Sheridan&#8217;s Hit TV Shows Shut Out at 2026 Emmy Awards<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I was very uncertain of what this would be without his words,&#8221; she said. &#8220;I didn&#8217;t know if it was gonna work. I didn&#8217;t know if she was going to work.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The actress, who reprises her role as<strong> Beth Dutton<\/strong>, said it felt as though part of the character &#8220;had to die&#8221; before she could figure out who Beth was in this new chapter.<\/p>\n<p>Behind the scenes, Season 1 also underwent a major leadership change, with Chad Feehan stepping down as showrunner and Benjamin Cavell taking over.<\/p>\n<h3>Earning Season 2<\/h3>\n<p>Reilly said <a href=\"https:\/\/tasteofcountry.com\/taylor-sheridan-show-the-laird\/\" target=\"_blank\">there was an adjustment period<\/a> as the cast and crew learned how to move forward without Sheridan serving as the show&#8217;s day-to-day creative force.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Everything comes to an end, and his time with these characters as creative leader, it ended.
