The British singer offered a sultry, impassioned rendition of the anthemic song. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cGreat Expectation\u201d comes off Spiro\u2019s debut album, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/sienna-spiro-visitor-album-review-1235586848\/\">Visitor<\/a><\/em>, which dropped earlier this month. She shared a <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=B452TVVco2Q\" target=\"_blank\">music video<\/a> for \u201cGreat Expectation\u201d on the day of release, which shares its visuals with her live performance on <em>The Tonight Show<\/em>, including its red and white backdrop. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn a review, <em>Rolling Stone<\/em> wrote of the album, \u201cShe sings with an intensity that shows how emotionally invested she is in the stories she\u2019s sharing. The anger and the sadness and the cynicism is what she uses to fuel these performances \u2014 the best of which appears on the standout \u2018Great Expectations.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tSpiro shared about the song, \u201c\u2018Great Expectation\u2019 is about a time when I was living in New York for a little while and talking to someone who kept saying they were gonna come see me. Every morning, I\u2019d walk down the stairs of the apartment building and, for a second, genuinely believe he\u2019d be outside waiting. Then I\u2019d spend the next five minutes walking down the street imagining what I\u2019d say, what it would feel like, what would happen if they were really there.
