Let\u2019s dive in.\u00a0<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading -->\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h2-ffbffaa1-80c4-4d6a-b0ae-63db8cc40741\"><strong>Code Yellow: Gently airing our concerns over dinner\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>As hard as it is to believe, the master of social media meltdowns himself, President Donald J. Trump, only rated inclusion in the \u201ccause for least concern\u201d category.\u00a0<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>\u201cThe Supreme Court upheld Birthright Citizenship, which is too bad for our Country, but we can easily make it up in Congress through Legislation, with the support of the President, that has now been determined during this process,\u201d he Truth Socialed. \u201cNo long and unwieldy Constitutional Amendment is necessary! Congress should start TODAY to work on ending expensive and unfair to our Country, Birthright Citizenship. They will have my Complete and Total Support! President DONALD J. TRUMP.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Setting aside the fact that you can\u2019t change the Constitution through legislation (unless you\u2019re listening to Brett Kavanaugh), channeling disappointment with a Court ruling into legislative action is downright democratic!\u00a0<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Ditto to House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=uEddljsXd_k\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a> that he\u2019s \u201cvery disappointed\u201d but that \u201cyou could say that\u2019s an originalist, textualist view.\u201d (He also spouted some \u201cbirth tourism\u201d stuff, but wait \u2018til we get lower in this list, he is comparatively a scholar and a gentleman.)<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Last is Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX), who admittedly proposed a 10-year immigration moratorium, but at least did it in a tone that\u2019s more racist uncle at Thanksgiving and less Stormfront message board.\u00a0<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>\u201cWe gotta put a bedsheet \u2015 a big bedsheet \u2015 over the Statue of Liberty,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MeidasTouch\/status\/2072082822941262138?s=20\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a>. \u201cShe\u2019s gotta go to sleep for a while \u2019cause we\u2019re not letting anybody in anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>\u201cInstead of having a torch, maybe it needs a stop sign,\u201d he added, miming the torch arm.\u00a0<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading -->\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h2-ba425bd2-a7c3-4f11-86ab-91e211023234\"><strong>Code Orange: He\u2019s a great guy, but he has a Woman Problem<\/strong><\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The problem with pitching a fun, lighthearted story about the right to sweep your beleaguered readers into the holiday weekend is that it isn\u2019t really all that fun: these chuds can\u2019t feel any emotion without lashing out at whatever woman is closest. Unfortunately, that means that our middle tier features misogyny (relatively) lite.\u00a0<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Lots of right-wingers are just boiling over at Justice Amy Coney Barrett, who, in another decision released this week, had the gall to vote against a fairly piddling <a href=\"https:\/\/talkingpointsmemo.com\/news\/supreme-court-rules-against-republicans-attempt-to-restrict-vote-by-mail\" target=\"_blank\">attempt<\/a> to restrict vote by mail (after helping deliver Republicans the south for the foreseeable future by killing the Voting Rights Act) and who then committed a graver sin: upholding birthright citizenship. Chief Justice John Roberts joined her in both of those majorities \u2014 and also ruled against letting Trump fire a Federal Reserve governor, which Barrett dissented from \u2014 yet fascinatingly, mysteriously, bafflingly, his name is going unslandered.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>\u201cIt turns out that Amy Coney Barrett is a DEI hire, little better than Kentanji Jackson,\u201d wrote right-wing commentator Matt Walsh. \u201cTerrible pick. When\u2019s the last time we had a Republican president who didn\u2019t put a liberal justice on the court?\u201d<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>And, as a bonus, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/GuntherEagleman\/status\/2071638113860874345?s=20\" target=\"_blank\">someone has made<\/a> a really horrifying AI woke Barrett, which is making the rounds on MAGA Twitter.\u00a0<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading -->\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h2-686b7c48-7495-4469-b7df-f4302dfd8469\"><strong>Code Red: Bring in the nice men in white coats\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>And here\u2019s about the point where this assignment got distinctly unpleasant and I regretted bringing it up in the first place. The vitriol against pregnant immigrants was universal and violent, by far the longest section of my list. We can\u2019t even have a little bit of fun in Trump\u2019s America.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN), perennial weirdo, introduced the \u201cAnchors Away Act.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>\u201cUnder my bill, under my legislation, we fix that and go back to what our founders intended,\u201d he said in a shaky TikTok-style <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RepOgles\/status\/2072014309614346549\" target=\"_blank\">video<\/a>. \u201cSo in short, what this bill does is if you are a pregnant woman, you can\u2019t come into this country. You got to be a citizen, be here, you have to be a green card holder. So if you\u2019re pregnant and you don\u2019t have one of those statuses, no admittance allowed.\u201d<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>\u201cThe State Department should IMMEDIATELY cease to give out visas to pregnant applicants,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RepBoebert\/status\/2071997114222071920?s=20\" target=\"_blank\">tweeted<\/a> Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO). \u201cSorry, Birth Tourism cannot continue.\u201d<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>\u201cThe idea that you could have a cruise ship filled with foreigners and they just dock at a port for an hour, and someone has a baby, Jesse, the baby\u2019s an American citizen!\u201d an increasingly hysterical Stephen Miller said to Fox News\u2019 Jesse Watters. \u201cThey can vote in every election for the rest of their lives! They could be living in a foreign country and be cashing welfare checks for American citizens!\u201d<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>And trumping the rest is Federalist CEO Sean Davis, who retweeted such invective as \u201cOur primary target for removal should no longer be \u2018the worst criminals.\u2019 It should be women. All of them. There\u2019s not a moment too soon. If they\u2019re actively giving birth, hurl them into Mexico.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>His original work is just as horrifying: He produced a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/seanmdav\/status\/2071983931998494799?s=20\" target=\"_blank\">list<\/a> of remedies to the Supreme Court decision including \u201cdeny entry to all pregnant foreigners,\u201d \u201cdeny entry to all female foreigners\u201d and \u201crequire sterilization of all foreign visitors prior to entry.\u201d<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Well.
