The group, which was led by Jerusalem Correspondent\u00a0<b>Jeremy Diamond<\/b>, traveled to the area where American citizen <b>Saif Musallet <\/b>was killed last year.<\/p>\n<p>Four settlers quickly descended on the reporters, who were joined by Musallet\u2019s father, Kamel. When the CNN group tried to leave, the settlers \u201cblocked the road with their car and tried to keep the vehicles from moving forward,\u201d per a release from the network.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed_container\" id=\"ec7a4b6ab1180d029ee43c0098d8984d\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">One year after Saif Musallet \u2013 an American citizen \u2013 was killed by settlers, his father made the dangerous journey to the site where he was beaten to death.<br \/>Within minutes, Israeli settlers armed with clubs, rocks &amp; a knife descended on us.<br \/>4 settlers were arrested, but Saif&#8217;s\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/AedDh0I6ju\">pic.twitter.com\/AedDh0I6ju<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Jeremy Diamond (@JDiamond1) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JDiamond1\/status\/2076731262643929423?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 13, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p>The settlers were armed with wooden and metal rods as well as stones. One brandished a knife and attempted to use it to puncture the tires of the vehicle Diamond and the others traveled in. Diamond eventually called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/media\/news\/gun-toting-israeli-forces-detain-ro-khanna-in-dramatic-video\/\">the Israeli military<\/a>, which has jurisdiction over the settlers, but they reportedly refused to address the behavior.<\/p>\n<p>A second commander sent his soldiers to address the problem. Four settlers were arrested, and authorities pulled clubs and a knife from the suspects\u2019 vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWithout an armored car, without a bulletbroof vest, how do I get to my land?\u201d Kamel says to Diamond in a video shared by the network. \u201cThe Israeli army right now should be here kicking them out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sayfollah \u201cSaif\u201d Musallet, an American citizen who was visiting his family in Sinjil, was beaten to death by a group of settlers in 2025. He was 20-years-old.
