We will miss him always.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Us Weekly<\/em> confirmed via a statement shared by Peacock on June 15 that Barker, who joined ITV America in summer 2020 and worked on <em>Love Island USA<\/em> for years before becoming a full-time executive producer, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/news\/love-island-usa-producer-james-barker-dead-after-medical-emergency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">had died<\/a> in Fiji one week prior amid \u201can unexpected medical emergency.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Madix\u2019s post also urged fans to contribute to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/support-james-barkers-celebration-of-life-and-expenses?fbclid=PAdGRleATBMR5wZG9mAmV4dG4DYWVtAjExAHNydGMGYXBwX2lkDzEyNDAyNDU3NDI4NzQxNAABp6NMGYsCNhcSw1s08De7SeNm-4S1gRU_97YwGvDBzED-O_5D9737kW5yKilY_aem_jnx73E5V1Nc0JuhwFtzj-A&amp;utm_id=97760_v0_s00_e0_tv6_a1dennhazikk1g\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GoFundMe<\/a> page dedicated to raising funds for a \u201ccelebration he deserves,\u201d as well as mortgage repayments and other bills. \u201cIf anyone is so able to donate or to just share this, thank you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Madix, who joined <em>Love Island USA<\/em> as a host in March 2026 at the beginning of season 6, concluded her post with a message to her late friend. \u201cThank you to James for touching all of our lives with your amazing light,\u201d she wrote alongside a photo of the pair smiling for the camera. \u201cWe miss you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The show paid tribute to Barker at the end of its June 16 episode. Alongside a montage of photos of Barker, text read, \u201cFor James.
