He later added that many singers do not write their own songs but can still make them their own.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Seething over the &#8220;spectacularly classless&#8221; allegations from Dee, Kelly retorted: &#8220;&#8216;My father&#8217;s legacy as a musician, songwriter, singer and bandleader speaks for itself.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;His friends, those who worked with him, those who love him, and millions of fans around the <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/news\/world-news\/\" rel=\"follow\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"\">world<\/a> that still continue to buy his records know exactly what he meant what he contributed and what he leaves behind. His legacy will live on eternally.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Kelly, who recently split from SlipKnot musician, Sid Wilson, then claimed Dee&#8217;s &#8216;last hit&#8217; was more than 40 years ago \u2013 1984.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">She continued: &#8220;There&#8217;s something spectacularly classless about Dee Snider trying to diminish my father Ozzy Osbourne and his extraordinary abilities and achievements when he is no longer here to challenge his allegations.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Kelly then compared Dee&#8217;s &#8220;brief period of mainstream success more than 40 years ago,&#8221; to her dad&#8217;s career, which &#8220;spanned nearly six decades and helped define heavy metal&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">And she wasn&#8217;t done yet. Signing off, branding the singer &#8220;Irrelevant&#8221;, she wrote: &#8220;My father doesn&#8217;t need Dee Snider&#8217;s approval to establish his place in music history. And trying to make my father smaller won&#8217;t make Dee Snider bigger.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;It only reminds everyone of the enormous difference between their legacies and further proves how irrelevant Snider is to the music industry and society as a whole.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Kelly concluded: &#8220;However, I would like to thank you Dee Snider for allowing the world to see how truly desperate he really is!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Following the furore, Dee took to X to apologise. Insisting he had &#8220;nothing but love for Ozzy&#8221;, he posted: &#8220;To be clear, I HAVE NOTHING BUT LOVE FOR OZZY. He was always lovely to me. Black Sabbath changed my life!
