The story will take place a few years after the events of the Oscar-winning 2017 movie, though Pixar did not disclose any additional details.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.justjared.com\/tags\/benjamin-bratt\/\" class=\"celebrity-tag-link\"><strong class=\"celebrity-tag-strong\">Benjamin Bratt<\/strong><\/a> also took the stage to confirm that he will reprise his voice role as Ernesto de la Cruz.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCoco holds a truly special place in my heart,\u201d <strong>Benjamin<\/strong> told the D23 audience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Disney and Pixar first announced the sequel in March 2025. Original filmmakers <strong>Lee Unkrich<\/strong> and <strong>Adrian Molina <\/strong>are returning for the follow-up, which will be produced by <strong>Mark Nielsen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, <em>Incredibles 3 <\/em>is slated for summer 2028 and will place more of the spotlight on the Parr children.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new installment will find Violet and Dash determined to step out on their own, setting up a new chapter for the super-powered family.
