Adam Driver is also among the cast as the villain Mr. Sinister, with the film landing a release date of May 5, 2028.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe cast was onstage with Marvel boss Kevin Feige, with Driver making a video appearance. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cKevin and I have been talking for years about me joining MCU,\u201d Driver said, adding they had \u201cfound something perfect with characters I feel very deeply about.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tSome of the cast was known going into D23. Sink was the first piece of the puzzle, with her Jean Grey debuting in <em>Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/em> last month. And it was already reported that <em>Heartstopper<\/em> Kit Connor would play Cyclops and that <em>Ready or Not <\/em>star Samara Weaving would play Emma Frost. And the <a href=\"https:\/\/view.mail.hollywoodreporter.com\/messages\/1786136083343448806ac8746\/raw?utm_source=zeta&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=HR-HeatVision-8-5-26&amp;bt_ee=4iaIfTwlXpH6M5R%2B61DR30pwUE4Wf7BTbFQCzPh8CpxHoytIchqSmFqswlH39SP7&amp;bt_ts=1786136083346\"><em>Heat Vision<\/em> newsletter exclusively reported<\/a> last week that Tony-nominated actor Abbott had tested and was a strong contender for Prof. X.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAs for the rest of the cast, Navarrette shot to fame starring in summer breakout hit <em>Obsession<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tBoyd comes from the world of Broadway, where she led <em>&amp; Juliet<\/em>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAbbott, meanwhile broke through on <em>Girls<\/em> and has varied screen roles, including last year\u2019s <em>Wolfman<\/em>, and was nominated for at the most recent Tonys for <em>Death of a Salesman<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe cast will all be wrangled by <em>Thunderbolts<\/em> director Jake Schreier, who is directing <em>X-Men<\/em>. It was a foundational text for comic book culture. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tIt also spawned 2000\u2019s <em>X-Men<\/em>, the Bryan Singer-directed feature that kicked off the modern age of superhero movies and which made Hugh Jackman into a star thanks to his turn as Wolverine. A number of actors from the 2000s movies will return for <em>Avengers: Doomsday<\/em>, including Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), James Marsden (Cyclops), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler) and Kelsey Grammer (Beast). In addition, Channing Tatum, who played the card-throwing mutant Gambit in <em>Deadpool &amp; Wolverine<\/em>, is among the <em>Doomsday<\/em> cast.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe 2010s revamp of the <em>X-Men<\/em>, meanwhile, starred James McAvoy as Prof. X, Michael Fassbender as Magneto and Jennifer Lawrence, Mystique and Nicholas Hoult as Beast.
