The cast includes Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/inde-navarrette\/\" id=\"auto-tag_inde-navarrette\" data-tag=\"inde-navarrette\">Inde Navarrette<\/a> as Rogue, Christopher Abbott as Prof. X and Maya Boyd as Storm. Adam Driver will be playing the villainous Mr. Sinister. <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/film\/news\/x-men-release-date-marvel-reboot-1236816959\/\">The movie will release on May 5, 2028.<\/a><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x\"\/>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe X-Men haven\u2019t assembled on screen since Fox\u2019s 2019 film \u201cDark Phoenix,\u201d which starred James McAvoy as Prof. Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Evan Peters as Quicksilver and Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler. This younger cast of actors starred in several Fox prequel films, including \u201cFirst Class,\u201d \u201cDays of Future Past\u201d and \u201cApocalypse.\u201d They took over from Fox\u2019s original cast of \u201cX-Men\u201d trilogy stars, which included Patrick Stewart (Xavier), Ian McKellen (Magneto), James Marsden (Cyclops), Kelsey Grammer (Beast), Halle Berry (Storm), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Famke Janssen (Jean Grey) and Rebecca Romijn (Mystique).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tExcept for Berry and Janssen, those original \u201cX-Men\u201d cast members are reprising their roles in this year\u2019s \u201cAvengers: Doomsday,\u201d where they\u2019ll cross over with the MCU stars to battle Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.) <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tSome of the past \u201cX-Men\u201d stars returned in Marvel\u2019s blockbuster \u201cDeadpool &amp; Wolverine,\u201d starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. Channing Tatum debuted as the mutant Gambit, who will also be returning for \u201cDoomsday.\u201d Fox\u2019s X-Men franchise ended anticlimactically with the 2020 spinoff \u201cNew Mutants,\u201d starring Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton and Maisie Williams.
