The statement remains posted on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DcCb1DQv__e\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Instagram<\/a> account for Knotfest, the music festival created in 2012 by Slipknot.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cEffective immediately, Slipknot will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson,\u201d the statement reads. \u201cWe wish him the best in his future endeavors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe Knotfest Instagram caption adds: \u201cSlipknot have parted ways with Sid Wilson. The announcement could briefly be found on the band\u2019s website.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"\/>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<em>Billboard<\/em> has reached out to a rep for Slipknot for further details.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tWilson joined Slipknot in 1998, having been recruited by the Des Moines, Iowa-founded heavy metal band as its ninth member for his impressive DJing skills. He joined just before the group\u2019s mainstream breakthrough, when they signed to Roadrunner Records and released their 1999 self-titled debut album.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe project was the band\u2019s first on the all-genre Billboard 200 albums chart (peaking at No. 51 in May 2000), where they\u2019ve since landed six top 10s and three No. 1s: 2008\u2019s <em>All Hope Is Gone<\/em>, 2014\u2019s <em>.5: The Gray Chapter<\/em> and 2019\u2019s <em>We Are Not Your Kind<\/em>. In 2006, the band took home their lone Grammy, best metal performance for the song \u201cBefore I Forget,\u201d among 11 career nominations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tLast month, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2026\/07\/31\/sid-wilson-kicked-out-of-slipknot\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">TMZ<\/a><\/em> reported that Wilson \u2014 known for wearing a gas-mask-like face covering amid the famously masked band \u2014 was notified July 31 that he\u2019d been let go from the group. With no official word from the band or Wilson himself, comments from Slipknot guitarist Jim Root on Instagram planted seeds of doubt around the report. \u201cDon\u2019t believe everything you read,\u201d Root wrote in a since-expired Instagram Story post, according to <em><a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/slipknots-jim-root-reacts-to-report-that-sid-wilson-was-kicked-out-of-the-band-after-28-years-12032295\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">People<\/a><\/em>. \u201cStop. Think. Take a breath. Sit with it for awhile. Maybe.
