I\u2019m not saying that it doesn\u2019t have a lot of plot holes. I\u2019m like, \u2018Bro, I can\u2019t.\u2019 That was a bit much. I was like, \u2018This is OD.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Richard agreed, joking, <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI hadn\u2019t seen anybody do that much coke onscreen in a long time. He was sniffing like it was 1985.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"\/>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The group also said that they weren\u2019t too sold on the romantic pairing at the center of the movie.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYeah, him and Teyana wasn\u2019t really there for me,\u201d said Alvin. \u201cI was like, \u2018These two together?\u2019 I don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dani agreed, joking that Hart and Taylor didn\u2019t exactly scream onscreen couple.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"\/>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cTeyana and Kevin as a couple? She kind of looked like his daughter,\u201d she said, before giving grace because of Teyana\u2019s copious cakes. \u201cI will say she looked good in the medical scrubs, though.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cShe did,\u201d Serita agreed. \u201cListen, I had never seen scrubs like that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI ain\u2019t never seen nobody\u2019s scrubs like that,\u201d added Richard. \u201cAre those tailored scrubs?\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"\/>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While the central romance earned mixed reviews, the younger members of the ensemble received significantly more praise.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mason Gooding, son of Cuba Gooding Jr., plays the groom-to-be, a revelation that caught Serita by surprise.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWait, I\u2019m sorry, Cuba Gooding Jr.\u2019s son was in it?\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYeah, Mason,\u201d Richard responded. \u201cThe kid that\u2019s getting married.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"\/>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The conversation then turned to the movie\u2019s young comedians, including <em>Saturday Night Live<\/em> cast members Marcello Hern\u00e1ndez, Kam Patterson and Ben Marshall.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOne thing I liked about this was seeing the fellow young comedians really hold their own,\u201d said Dani. \u201cTo see them have this moment with Kevin Hart, where they\u2019re going toe-to-toe with him with the comedy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Serita described the ensemble as an intergenerational comedic situation, with Hart sharing the screen with a new crop of performers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When Dani asked the panel\u2019s \u201cresident comedian\u201d for his assessment, Richard admitted the cast accomplished something unexpected.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt made me almost kind of want to watch <em>Saturday Night Live<\/em>,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAlmost,\u201d Dani interjected.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAlmost kind of,\u201d Richard joked.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Richard had particular praise for Patterson and his rise through the comedy ranks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWatching Kam Patterson in particular, watching his sort of rise to fame coming out of Austin and watching this film basically be the culmination of all of that work that he\u2019s put in, it has been enjoyable to watch,\u201d he said. \u201cTo see him go from <em>Kill Tony<\/em> to <em>SNL<\/em>, and then to go do this movie not only with Kevin Hart, but with his <em>SNL<\/em> co-workers, it has been fun to watch him kind of blow up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He did, however, have one piece of unsolicited advice for the burgeoning comedy star.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI still need him to work out, though,\u201d Richard joked. \u201cHit a couple of push-ups.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"\/>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beyond its cast, <em>72 Hours<\/em> boasts plenty of comedy pedigree behind the camera. The film was directed by Tim Story, whose credits include <em>Barbershop<\/em> and <em>Ride Along<\/em>, and produced by Will Packer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The panel weighs whether <em>72 Hours<\/em> captures the same comedic energy and entertainment value as some of Story and Packer\u2019s previous projects while also discussing surprise appearances from Mike Epps, Katt Williams and Andy Garcia.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whatever the group\u2019s verdict on the movie\u2019s more unbelievable moments, viewers clearly tuned in.
