He developed an ulcer, followed by an organ perforation and eventually sepsis, and had to spend three weeks in the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis body became septic, he coded, and he nearly d**d several times,\u201d Barbara said. \u201cHe underwent abdominal surgery, had fluid drained from around his lungs twice, and then had to recover from surgery and begin physical therapy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"post-desktop-ad-within-content post-ads margin-left\"\/><\/p>\n<p>A month later, he landed in the ER again and underwent emergency surgery for a massive blood clot.<\/p>\n<p>The health battles had been \u201ctraumatic and horrific\u201d for me, a source told <i>Page Six<\/i> at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Hilton moved from Las Vegas to Miami to be close to family, but then worried it was a financial drain on top of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boredpanda.com\/insane-hospital-bill\/\" class=\" staff-link\">medical bills<\/a>.
