{"id":45153,"date":"2026-08-14T21:00:53","date_gmt":"2026-08-14T16:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=45153"},"modified":"2026-08-14T21:00:53","modified_gmt":"2026-08-14T16:00:53","slug":"how-mary-cosby-handled-filming-rhoslc-after-son-robert-jr-s-tragic-death","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=45153","title":{"rendered":"How Mary Cosby handled filming &#8216;RHOSLC&#8217; after son Robert Jr.&#8217;s tragic death"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script>\r\n  atOptions = {\r\n    'key' : '644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6',\r\n    'format' : 'iframe',\r\n    'height' : 90,\r\n    'width' : 728,\r\n    'params' : {}\r\n  };\r\n<\/script>\r\n<script src=\"https:\/\/www.highperformanceformat.com\/644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6\/invoke.js\"><\/script>\r\n<br \/>\n<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/wp-content%2Fuploads%2Fsites%2F3%2F2026%2F08%2F137407876.jpg?quality%3D90%26strip%3Dall\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Mary Cosby handled the aftermath of <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/02\/25\/celebrity-news\/rhoslc-star-mary-cosbys-son-robert-dead-at-23\/\">her son Robert Jr.\u2019s death<\/a> \u201cso beautifully\u201d while shooting \u201cThe Real Housewives of Salt Lake City\u201d Season 7, according to co-star Meredith Marks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMary, you\u2019ll see, her strength is so inspirational,\u201d Marks<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Db9uzwrpVXO\/\"> said on the Australian radio show \u201cJase, Lauren &amp; Clint\u201d<\/a>on Thursday. <\/p>\n<p> \u201cAnd I think it will be really incredible to watch,\u201d the Bravo star added.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Meredith Marks (seen above) opened up about how Mary Cosby handled her son Robert Jr.\u2019s death during \u201cRHOSLC\u201d Season 7 filming.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Marks said Cosby (seen here with her son) handled the aftermath of his death \u201cso beautifully.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/mary_m_cosby<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>But Marks, 54, acknowledged \u201cit will be very tough\u201d for Cosby, 53, to relive the family tragedy on the upcoming season, which premieres Sept. 16.<\/p>\n<p>Despite that, Marks believes the reality show \u201cgave [Cosby] another focus during a difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s the downside to reality TV,\u201d Marks explained. \u201cYou relive things later.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Marks also said Cosby\u2019s strength was inspirational.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>But Marks acknowledged \u201cit will be very tough\u201d for Cosby to relive Robert Jr.\u2019s death (Robert Jr. is seen above).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Cosby\u2019s 23-year-old son was found dead on Feb. 23 after officers \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/02\/25\/celebrity-news\/911-audio-reveals-harrowing-details-of-mary-cosbys-son-robert-jr-death\/\">responded to an\u00a0overdose call<\/a>\u00a0that turned into a death investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Robert Jr. was unconscious, not breathing, and given one dose of Narcan before he died,<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/02\/25\/celebrity-news\/911-audio-reveals-harrowing-details-of-mary-cosbys-son-robert-jr-death\/\"> according to a 911 call<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Cosby and her husband, Robert Sr., released a joint statement at the time, writing, \u201cOur beloved son Robert Jr. has been called home to the Lord.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThough our hearts ache, we take comfort in God\u2019s promise and in knowing he is finally at peace. We are grateful for your prayers and trust in the Lord to carry us through this time of sorrow,\u201d the couple added.<\/p>\n<p>Robert Jr. died after his estranged wife, Alexiana Smokoff,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/11\/26\/celebrity-news\/mary-cosbys-son-robert-jr-s-wife-files-for-divorce-as-he-sits-in-jail-following-his-latest-arrest\/\">filed for divorce<\/a>\u00a0in November 2025 after three years of marriage.
