J.J. Abrams\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/bad-robot\/\" id=\"auto-tag_bad-robot_1\" data-tag=\"bad-robot\">Bad Robot<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/blumhouse\/\" id=\"auto-tag_blumhouse_1\" data-tag=\"blumhouse\">Blumhouse<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/atomic-monster\/\" id=\"auto-tag_atomic-monster_1\" data-tag=\"atomic-monster\">Atomic Monster<\/a> are also involved.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe pickup for <em>Sid &amp; Zoey<\/em> comes on the heels of Netflix announcing a premiere date and details for its fall teen drama <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/netflix-the-body-release-date-first-look-photos-1236670674\/\">The Body<\/a><\/em>, a trailer for the YA sports romance <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/crew-girl-miku-martineau-netflix-ya-trailer-1236670709\/\">Crew Girl<\/a><\/em>, and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/netflix-ya-podcast-taping-1236672938\/\">live episode<\/a> of Evan Ross Katz\u2019s <em>Shut Up Evan: The Group Chat<\/em> podcast featuring several Netflix YA stars. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tNetflix describes <em>Sid &amp; Zoey<\/em> this way: \u201cSid, a seductive, sophisticated, and amoral teenager from New York, is sent to live with a police chief and his family in the idyllic Mississippi town where his mother grew up. The family includes the chief\u2019s sharp-witted, punk-rock daughter, Zoey. Resisting their mutual attraction, Sid and Zoey find themselves drawn into a dark, hidden world beneath the town\u2019s picture-postcard facade \u2014 and a supernatural mystery that may well get them killed if they don\u2019t kill each other first.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tKasdan and Shiban both have some experience on YA shows and\/or those dealing with otherworldly elements. Kasdan was a writer on Freaks and Geeks and Dawson\u2019s Creek early in his career and wrote and directed the 2012 feature <em>The First Time<\/em>, a rom-com about two high schoolers who fall for each other over a weekend. Shiban\u2019s credits include <em>The X-Files<\/em> and <em>Supernatural<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tBlumhouse Atomic Monster is producing <em>Sid &amp; Zoey<\/em>. Kasdan and Shiban are co-showrunners and executive produce with J.J.
