The song is the title track to Sivan\u2019s upcoming fourth full-length studio album, <em>She\u2019s the Best<\/em>, which is due out on Oct. 9.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe visual opens with Kidman embodying the song\u2019s lyrics as she catches Sivan\u2019s eyes thanks to her casual fierceness, strutting down a city street smoking a slim cigarette, her long, blonde hair mussed just perfectly while hiding her eyes behind dark shades and rocking a form-fitting little black leather dress and matching gloves under a chic, furry black coat. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe lyrics tell you all you need to know: \u201cShe\u2019s walking down the street with her little thin cigarette\/ Great smile, and a c-m stain on her dress,\u201d Sivan sings\/talks drowsily over an insistent drum beat. \u201cDJs from Wednesday to Monday\/ Don\u2019t ask, she\u2019s not taking any fu\u2013ing requests\/ Quick drag, a rouge cheek, a blush lip\/ Eyeliner in her waterline and some\u2026 Contour\u2026 on her\u2026 t\u2013s.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAs he sits in a caf\u00e9 musing over his muse, Kidman struts into the dressing room of a drag show, striding with purpose by the equally glammed-up glamizons, smoking and getting their final touch-ups before hitting the stage. The team-up with Kidman is a call-back to the first time the two met in 2018 on the set of the film <em>Boy Erased<\/em>, a drama about a closeted young man whose Baptist parents force him into conversion therapy. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe song about an alluring night owl who is simply the best was written by Sivan, Jack Antonoff, Leland, The 1975 drummer George Daniel and Kaelyn Behr, with production by Sivan, Daniel, Antonoff and Styalz Fuego. Gordon Von Steiner (\u201cRush,\u201d \u201cGot Me Started\u201d) directed the video, which co-stars <em>RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race<\/em> season 15 champ Sasha Colby.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAccording to <em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/troye-sivan-shes-the-best-charli-xcx-nicole-kidman-1235608285\/\">Rolling Stone<\/a><\/em>, Daniel\u2019s wife, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/charli-xcx\/\">Charli xcx<\/a>, is featured in a snippet near the end of the song in a blink-and-miss vocal cameo murmuring the refrain \u201cShe\u2019s the heartbeat bumping in my chest\/ She\u2019s the best,\u201d as the song rushes to its conclusion. \u201cThe vocal that you hear at the end of \u2018She\u2019s the Best,\u2019 it\u2019s Charli,\u201d Sivan told the magazine. \u201cWe\u2019ve found ways to work these women into the songs. I don\u2019t want to speak for him, but I think for both George and I, Charli is obviously a very, very, very special person to both of us, and so to have her on that song in some small way is very meaningful to us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tSivan also told <em>RS<\/em> that the anecdotes in the song are a kind of collage and love letter to a number of women in his life who have made a huge impact. \u201cTo be able to have made music with\u00a0Ariana [Grande]\u00a0or\u00a0Lily-Rose Depp, then touring with Charli [xcx] and growing up alongside her\u2026I\u2019ve always just loved being in the orbit of these women,\u201d he said. \u201c\u2018She\u2019s the Best\u2019 was the first time I wasn\u2019t trying to psychoanalyze myself, and I wasn\u2019t writing about men.
