{"id":44695,"date":"2026-08-14T16:26:46","date_gmt":"2026-08-14T11:26:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=44695"},"modified":"2026-08-14T16:26:46","modified_gmt":"2026-08-14T11:26:46","slug":"suspect-in-murder-of-dad-found-zip-tied-in-shallow-grave-busted-after-7-weeks-on-the-run","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=44695","title":{"rendered":"Suspect in murder of dad found zip-tied in shallow grave busted after 7 weeks on the run"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script>\r\n  atOptions = {\r\n    'key' : '644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6',\r\n    'format' : 'iframe',\r\n    'height' : 90,\r\n    'width' : 728,\r\n    'params' : {}\r\n  };\r\n<\/script>\r\n<script src=\"https:\/\/www.highperformanceformat.com\/644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6\/invoke.js\"><\/script>\r\n<br \/>\n<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content%2Fuploads%2Fsites%2F2%2F2026%2F08%2F137386751.jpg?quality%3D90%26strip%3Dall\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A Florida woman wanted for the murder of a dad <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/07\/21\/us-news\/dangerous-woman-who-goes-by-multiple-aliases-on-the-run-after-man-found-buried-in-shallow-grave-cops\/\">found zip-tied and buried in a shallow grave<\/a> has been arrested after seven weeks on the run, police announced.<\/p>\n<p>Isabelle Rose Johnson, who has evaded capture since June 25, was taken into custody Thursday in Cottondale, Florida \u2014 about 60 miles northeast from the Freeport property where police found the remains of Jason Coulthart.<\/p>\n<p>She was busted while wearing a black T-shirt with \u201cforce to be reckoned with\u201d written across the front, according to photos of her in handcuffs while surrounded by heavily armed officers.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson, 38, used several aliases and <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/07\/24\/us-news\/florida-woman-accused-of-murder-was-master-manipulator-of-alleged-accomplices-new-arrest-reports\/\">had a network of accomplices<\/a> as she evaded police over several weeks while she was wanted for open murder, police said.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Isabelle Johnson was arrested for murder Thursday in Cottondale, Fla.  <span class=\"credit\">Walton County Sheriff&#8217;s Office<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>She was described as a \u201cdangerous\u201d swindler, who was known for concocting fake sob stories to gain favors or money from strangers.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Coulthart, a 43-year-old father of a 20-year-old adult son, was initially reported missing on May 24.<\/p>\n<p>His body was found a month later with a zip tie around his neck buried in a shallow grave, which was covered in concrete with a black Cadillac parked over it, according to police.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson\u2019s reported roommate allegedly helped her dig a hole to bury Coulthart\u2019s body, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/07\/24\/us-news\/florida-woman-accused-of-murder-was-master-manipulator-of-alleged-accomplices-new-arrest-reports\/\">according to a police report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Johnson wore a shirt that said \u201cforce to be reckoned with\u201d as she was taken into custody. <span class=\"credit\">Walton County Sheriff&#8217;s Office<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cShe killed the victim by placing a zip tie around his neck,\u201d one unidentified witness cited in the report told investigators.
