So strong that she believes movies which have such scenes should be rated R, full stop.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel like movies that kill dogs should automatically be rated R,\u201d she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Db9FEOQDT5H\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">told Complex Pop Culture<\/a> in a social media video posted Wednesday during an interview promoting her new film <em>The End of Oak Street<\/em>. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t matter if anybody curses. It doesn\u2019t matter if there\u2019s violence. If a dog dies, R rated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During the interview, the actress told a reporter that she\u2019s been seeing people concerned that the family dog is going to die in <em>The End of Oak Street<\/em>. She pretty much shut down that possibility, saying, \u201cWe break rules in this movie. That might not be one of them. Don\u2019t worry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Related Video<\/p>\n<p>But people\u2019s concerns brought her to consider the origins of these worries. \u201cI\u2019m like, which movies are out there killing dogs? That everybody is so scared that we\u2019re just casually doing it in movies now?\u201d she said. She thinks she has an answer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think everybody is so traumatized by <em>John Wick,\u201d <\/em>she noted.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In that film, the titular character sets off on a mission of revenge after gangsters kill his puppy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>The End of Oak Street<\/em>, directed by J.J. Abrams and starring Hathaway and Ewan McGregor, focuses on a family trying to survive after their neighborhood is thrown into chaos by an otherworldly event.
