Siedlecki has been a big part of that success, rising from an intern role on the show in 1996 to booking his first act, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/nelly-furtado\">Nelly Furtado<\/a>, in 2001.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, he has been responsible for bringing some of the biggest names in music to their famous stage. Recent notable appearances include <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/snl-shares-paul-mccartneys-post-credits-performances-of-help-and-drive-my-car-featuring-will-ferrell-on-cowbell-3947213\">Paul McCartney performing Beatles hits with Will Ferrell playing cowbell<\/a> (a reference to a famous <em>SNL<\/em> sketch); <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/megan-thee-stallion-demands-justice-for-breonna-taylor-during-snl-debut-2769551\">Megan Thee Stallion using her 2020 debut on the show to protest the shooting of Breonna Taylor<\/a>; and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/lily-allen-brings-out-dakota-johnson-as-madeline-in-snl-performance-3918441\">Lily Allen bringing out Dakota Johnson as the title character of her track \u2018Madeline\u2019 during a performance last year.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Lily Allen - Madeline (Live on SNL)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RRj1it--Y-I?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Siedlecki, <em>SNL<\/em>, and network NBC have all declined to comment on the departure, which was first revealed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/music\/film-tv-music-news\/snl-music-booker-brian-siedlecki-departs-show-exclusive-1236671437\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a>. The article states that the show still has two long-serving music bookers, Keri Powers and Rebecca Schwartz, who have each been with SNL for over a decade.<\/p>\n<p>Music has also been a part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/tv\/heres-when-saturday-night-live-uk-is-coming-back-for-season-two-3962111\"><em>Saturday Night Live UK<\/em><\/a>, the British spin-off that debuted in March of this year and will return in September for a second season. The debut season saw <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/watch-kasabian-perform-release-the-pressure-and-great-pretender-on-snl-uk-3938529\">Kasabian perform \u2018Release The Pressure\u2019 and \u2018Great Pretender\u2019<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/watch-wolf-alice-play-white-horses-and-leaning-against-the-wall-on-snl-uk-3937286\">Wolf Alice play \u2018White Horses\u2019 and \u2018Leaning Against the Wall\u2019<\/a>; and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/tv\/watch-foo-fighters-play-child-actor-and-caught-in-the-echo-on-snl-uk-3942596\">Foo Fighters become the first international band to appear<\/a> when they performed \u2018Child Actor\u2019 and \u2018Caught in the Echo\u2019 on the show.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/kasabian-act-iii-new-album-great-pretender-single-interview-imposter-syndrome-guitar-music-tour-3938078\">Speaking to NME ahead of Kasabian\u2019s appearance<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/serge-pizzorno\">Serge Pizzorno<\/a> said: \u201cIt\u2019s obviously an American institution that has been on over there for decades, so once people start to understand the structure of it and get the pace, then it\u2019ll be great.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat\u2019s really beautiful is having music on the telly again.
