First, Underscores \u2014 the opening act on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/charli-xcx-announces-music-fashion-film-fall-tour-1235572499\/\">her upcoming Music, Fashion, Film Tour<\/a> \u2014 performed their own \u201cMusic\u201d alongside the singer. Kim Petras later appeared to perform \u201cJeep,\u201d and Clairo closed out the surprises with a rendition of \u201cSofia.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\">\n<p>\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Charli xcx brings out Clairo to perform \u201cSofia\u201d in Brooklyn, NY\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_7fTEx-G-Fw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tMoving away from the <em>Brat<\/em> era \u2014 only \u201cApple\u201d was played \u2014 Charli XCX instead focused on her new LP and beyond, performing the unreleased \u201cTake Away the Music\u201d and closed out the MHOW gig with <em>M, F, F<\/em>\u2019s \u201cWink Wink\u201d and \u201cRock Music.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x\"\/>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tFollowing another small gig July 14 at London\u2019s Scala, Charli XCX is scheduled to perform on a way bigger stage with a headlining slot at Lollapalooza on July 31, the first of four festival gigs she has booked this summer; San Francisco\u2019s Outside Lands and England\u2019s Reading and Leeds follow in August. Even though the album\u2019s first single was titled \u201cRock Music,\u201d Charli XCX wouldn\u2019t define the LP as a \u201crock album\u201d in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/charli-xcx-new-album-music-fashion-film-brat-1235576603\/\">her recent <em>Rolling Stone<\/em> cover story<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cObviously, I know that there\u2019s been a lot of conversation around me making a rock album, which is something that I never said,\u201d she said. \u201cBut to be honest, I\u2019ve never thought about genre in a binary way. I find that to be a very old-school notion. I don\u2019t even know what the genre is. It\u2019s just me and A. G.
