According to the Foo Fighters drummer, those around Barker knew that he was destined for greatness.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>In the doc, Hawkins (pictured above in 2022) recalled meeting Barker for the first time and thinking he would be the \u201cstar attraction\u201d in his own band someday. <span class=\"credit\">AFP via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Hawkins and Barker (pictured at a Los Angeles concert in June 2019) remained close friends over the years. The drummer even got a tattoo honoring his late pal after his untimely death. <span class=\"credit\">AP Photo\/Chris Pizzello<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cIt was like, \u2018Oh, you\u2019re gonna get picked up by a band, eventually \u2013 and you will be the star attraction in that band,&#8217;\u201d he recalled thinking about Barker at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Over the years, Hawkins and Barker remained close pals \u2014\u00a0so much so that the Blink-182 drummer <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2022\/04\/13\/travis-barker-gets-hawk-tattoo-in-honor-of-taylor-hawkins\/\">got a hawk tattoo<\/a> in honor of his pal after his untimely death.<\/p>\n<p>He also wrote about how Hawkins\u2019 encouragement early in his career gave him \u201cso much hope and determination\u201d in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Cbjd-wCOq1X\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a tribute post<\/a> he penned via Instagram at the time.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Barker developed an opioid addiction<\/strong>, <strong>was taking \u201920 to 30 pills a day<\/strong>\u2018<\/h2>\n<p>Barker always had a fear of flying \u2014 even before his near-fatal plane crash in 2008, his Blink-182 bandmate Tom DeLonge divulged in the documentary.<\/p>\n<p>The fear led him to develop a years-long addiction to opioids. He has since become sober.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy friends knew how much I dreaded being on planes, and one of them gave me a pill to help with my anxiety,\u201d Barker explained, noting that he went from taking one or two painkillers, like OxyContin, before a flight to \u201chaving to be on them\u201d or he \u201ccouldn\u2019t even function.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Barker addressed his past addiction struggles in the new Hulu doc (a poster from the project pictured above), with his ex-wife, Shanna Moakler, revealing he was taking \u201c20 to 30 pills a day\u201d at one point. <span class=\"credit\">Disney<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The rocker (seen here at the New York City premiere of \u201cTravis Barker: Louder than Fear\u201d in June) said he used to have a security guard whose only job was to \u201cmake sure I was breathing.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">Disney<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Barker said that at the height of his addiction, he was \u201cdoing so [many] drugs\u201d that he \u201chad a security guard watching him\u201d 24 hours a day whose \u201conly job was to make sure I was breathing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shanna Moakler \u2014\u00a0who was married to Barker from 2004 to 2008 \u2014 chimed in and reflected on her own experience of dealing with the drummer\u2019s addiction at the time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe told me, \u2018I take about 20 to 30 pills a day sometimes,&#8217;\u201d the model shared, adding that she remembered thinking, \u201cHow are you alive?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During their marriage, Moakler and Barker welcomed two children: son Landon and daughter Alabama. He\u2019s also stepfather to daughter Atiana, whom Moakler shares with ex Oscar De La Hoya. <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Alabama eerily said \u2018the roof is on fire\u2019 before Barker\u2019s plane crash\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Back in September 2008, Barker was critically injured in a plane crash that killed two pilots, along with his personal assistant Chris Baker and security guard Charles \u201cChe\u201d Still.  Among the six people who were on board, Barker and Adam \u201cDJ AM\u201d Goldstein were the only survivors.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At the time of the incident, Barker had just performed a gig in Columbia, South Carolina, and was heading to Van Nuys, California.\u00a0The private plane crashed while departing the Columbia Metropolitan Airport and Barker was engulfed in flames as he made his escape.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBefore I left, my daughter, Alabama, was hysterically crying and saying, like, \u2018The roof is on fire, and it\u2019s gonna come off,&#8217;\u201d Barker recalled onscreen, noting that <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/08\/11\/celebrity-news\/travis-barker-daughter-alabama-had-awful-feeling-before-his-2008-plane-crash\/\">her eerie words<\/a> were \u201cjust the weirdest thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Barker also talked about surviving a plane crash in 2008 that killed his friends in \u201cTravis Barker: Louder Than Fear.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">Disney<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>His daughter, Alabama (pictured above in July at the Highsnobiety x TUNNEL launch party), cried about \u201cthe roof\u201d of her dad\u2019s plane being on \u201cfire\u201d before the crash. <span class=\"credit\">BFA.com \/ BACKGRID<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>He told cameras that his daughter continued to cry for like \u201ctwo hours straight, after I left,\u201d before the crash occurred.<\/p>\n<p>Barker also addressed Alabama\u2019s premonition on the Aug. 10 episode of the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/episode\/59rmxUucau2EFouUXszFND?si=7c817dec57b44a8b&amp;nd=1&amp;dlsi=41692933ad7347e2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">On Purpose With Jay Shetty<\/a>\u201d podcast.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d said to my manager, \u2018Is it too late to just pull out? I don\u2019t really need to do this,&#8217;\u201d he remembered. \u201cI was just so content with being home with the kiddos, and he\u2019s like, \u2018Bro, you can\u2019t cancel this late.\u2019 So, I ended up flying out there.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Sixty-five percent of his body was burnt in the crash<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Dr. Peter Grossman, medical director of Grossman Burn Center, was featured in the doc, revealing that Barker was \u201cin really bad shape\u201d with \u201cextensive burns\u201d when he came in after the plane crash.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was an absolute concern as to whether or not he would survive,\u201d he said of the drummer.<\/p>\n<p>Barker noted that he didn\u2019t \u201creally understand the severity of it all\u201d at the time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was talk of amputating my foot. Sixty-five percent of my body was burnt,\u201d he recalled, noting that after spending over three months in the hospital and having \u201c27 surgeries,\u201d he \u201cwas suicidal.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Barker had \u2018survivor\u2019s guilt\u2019 and stayed with his kids \u2018everywhere<\/strong>\u2018<\/h2>\n<p>In August 2009, one year after the plane crash, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2009\/08\/29\/dj-am-died-from-drug-overdose\/\">Goldstein died of a drug overdose.<\/a>\u00a0Barker said in the doc that \u201cit was beyond difficult to relate to anybody\u201d after his pal (the only other survivor in the crash) died.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI felt like I was in \u2018Final Destination,\u2019 and I was next,\u201d the musician remembered thinking at the time, admitting that he \u201cdefinitely\u201d felt survivor\u2019s guilt.<\/p>\n<p>Barker also recalled a conversation he had with Goldstein before his pal\u2019s death. He remembered him saying, \u201cI feel like I don\u2019t have much to live for, and it\u2019s really f\u2013king with me. You\u2019ve got kids, you\u2019ve got a lot to live for.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Barker (pictured with Adam \u201cDJ AM\u201d Goldstein in 2009) said he felt like he was in \u201cFinal Destination\u201d after his pal (the only other survivor of the crash) died from a drug overdose. <span class=\"credit\">WireImage<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Barker (pictured with Goldstein in Columbia, South Carolina, on Sept. 19, 2008) said he couldn\u2019t \u201crelate to anybody\u201d after Goldstein died. <span class=\"credit\">Michael Loccisano<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Those words stuck with Barker for a long time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would sleep in Landon\u2019s bed, and then Alabama\u2019s bed. I would go back and forth,\u201d he said of how he coped with the trauma.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was with them everywhere I went. [My kids] were the best thing for my recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Kourtney Kardashian was drawn to him after \u2018watching him as a father<\/strong>\u2018<\/h2>\n<p>Elsewhere in the doc, Barker addressed how he struck up a romance with his now-wife, Kourtney Kardashian, in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The musician recalled how he and the reality TV star lived down the street from each other and spent holidays together with their families. Kardashian was already mom to three kids \u2014 Mason, Penelope and Reign \u2014 with ex Scott Disick.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Kardashian (pictured with Barker in an April 2026 Instagram photo) said she was drawn to her now-husband after watching him as a father. <span class=\"credit\">travisbarker\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Barker and Kardashian (pictured with their son Rocky on June 12, 2026) celebrated holidays together before their romance, they said.  <span class=\"credit\">Santi Ramales \/ BACKGRID<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cHalloween and Christmas, we thrived,\u201d Kardashian said onscreen, adding that they carved pumpkins and made gingerbread houses together with their kids.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She also gushed that watching Barker as a father \u201calways drew [her] to him,\u201d as she \u201cgot to know his real values through his kids.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>They were \u2018devastated\u2019 by Kardashian\u2019s miscarriage<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Six months into their relationship, Kardashian got pregnant and the two were \u201cso happy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen, we go to the doctor, and the doctor tells us the baby doesn\u2019t have a heartbeat,\u201d recalled Barker, who revealed that the baby was a girl, whom they named Tulip.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kardashian chimed in, adding, \u201cWhen we lost the baby, we were devastated. We just laid in bed and cried for days. Kardashian, now 47, was 41 at the time.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI remember my doctor saying, \u2018You have to do IVF,&#8217;\u201d she said, adding that it was \u201cso hard on [her] body.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Their efforts to get pregnant included five <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2023\/05\/04\/kourtney-kardashian-proudly-shows-off-ivf-body-in-bikini\/\">in vitro fertilization attempts<\/a> over the span of eight months, which left Kardashian \u201cso disappointed\u201d each time it didn\u2019t work.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt messed with me, mentally,\u201d she confessed. \u201cI remember crying to Travis, \u2018I can\u2019t do this anymore.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Kardashian (pictured in an Instagram photo with Barker on Nov. 14, 2024) said IVF \u201cmessed with [her], mentally.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">kourtneykardash\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Kardashian (pictured with Barker in an Instagram photo from 2024) recalled telling him, \u201cI can\u2019t do this anymore,\u201d after several attempts to get pregnant via IVF. <span class=\"credit\">kourtneykardash\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In May 2023, she and Barker <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2023\/05\/25\/why-kourtney-kardashian-and-travis-barker-are-officially-done-with-ivf\/\">declared they were \u201cofficially done\u201d with IVF <\/a>and wanted to conceive naturally.<\/p>\n<p>According to Kardashian, she told him, \u201cIf God has a baby in store for us, it will happen naturally.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Kardashian had a \u2018terrifying\u2019 surgery\u2019 during her second pregnancy\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Kardashian got pregnant again in 2023, and <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2023\/06\/17\/kourtney-kardashian-pregnant-expecting-baby-with-travis-barker\/\">announced her pregnancy<\/a> that June, during the drummer\u2019s Blink-182 concert in Los Angeles. <\/p>\n<p>She noted that because of Barker\u2019s \u201ctrauma,\u201d he was \u201creally worried the whole pregnancy.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When Kardashian was seven months pregnant \u2014 and Barker was on tour in Europe \u2014 they found out the baby\u2019s lungs were filling with fluid.\u00a0Kardashian <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2023\/09\/06\/pregnant-kourtney-kardashian-needed-fetal-surgery-to-save-baby-boys-life\/\">needed \u201curgent fetal surgery\u201d<\/a> to drain it.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Barker (pictured with son Rocky in a 2023) was \u201creally worried\u201d throughout Kardashian\u2019s entire pregnancy. <span class=\"credit\">Kourtney Kardashian\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cIt was terrifying going in for the surgery,\u201d she said, adding that Barker cancelled four shows \u201cand came and laid with me in the hospital, and made sure that everything was OK.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One month later, their son, Rocky, was born.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Kardashian had a \u2018vision\u2019 of Barker\u2019s deceased mother\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In another part of the doc, Kardashian spoke about encouraging Barker to fly again.
