However, when she was in a four-year relationship in her mid-30s, she said she thought it was the time to have children.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd then it was apparent to me that this was not the man I wanted to have kids with,\u201d she shared. \u201cSo I was like, \u2018OK, well, I guess that didn\u2019t happen.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But Janney said she was relieved.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe way you feel in a relationship that you know is probably not the one and you\u2019re kind of in it and you don\u2019t know how to get out of it \u2014 that\u2019s the most lonely feeling in the world to be with someone and feel alone,\u201d she reflected. \u201cOh my God, that\u2019s awful. So, it didn\u2019t happen for me.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Janney said she saw a fertility doctor who told her the odds were not in her favor when it came to getting pregnant. She also took it as a sign that her partner at the time also didn\u2019t want to have kids. <span class=\"credit\">YouTube\/Reclaiming with Monica Lewinsky<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The \u201cI, Tonya\u201d star dated fellow actor Dennis Gagomiros (seen above in June 2001) from 1994 to 2001. <span class=\"credit\">Ron Galella Collection via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI knew I never wanted to have kids,\u201d she continued. \u201cThat\u2019s just something that I\u2019ve always known.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Still, she said that in her 40s she felt that she should \u201cjust try\u201d and visited a fertility doctor, and was bluntly told that her chances of getting pregnant weren\u2019t great.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first I heard that I wouldn\u2019t be able to have a kid at 40-something was in this fertility doctor\u2019s office. She was like, \u201cThe odds are not in your favor,&#8217;\u201d she recalled, admitting that she thought women could easily have kids in their 50s.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd she said, \u2018Also, where is your partner?\u2019 And the guy that I was with, he didn\u2019t even come with me and I was like, \u2018I guess that is a sign, isn\u2019t it?&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>She was once engaged to her \u201cOur Very Own\u201d co-star Richard Jenik, but they broke up in 2006 after four years together.
