of lying in wait and personally using a knife, according to the <a aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/california\/story\/2026-08-12\/nick-reiner-indictment-rob-michele-slayings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Los Angeles Times.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The sentence without parole or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-sun.com\/entertainment\/15691117\/rob-reiner-michele-case-nick-death-penalty\/\">the death penalty.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The indictment allows prosecutors to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-sun.com\/entertainment\/15745816\/nick-reiner-plea-rob-michele-murder-court\/\">speed up the process for Nick\u2019s case to go to trial<\/a>, avoid a preliminary hearing and avoid witnesses testifying about the circumstances and Nick\u2019s <span id=\"664bbf11-08d8-4780-9a81-67490f483a8f\" class=\"suggested-link\">history<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis was a profound betrayal by someone who was loved and trusted by the very people he is accused of killing,\u201d said Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J.
