Pictures)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Perhaps in response to the criticism, a source close to Brad issued a statement:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a very personal decision that\u2019s unique to Brad and his own circumstances,\u201d the insider told <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/08\/11\/celebrity-news\/inside-brad-pitts-decision-to-drink-again-after-7-years-of-sobriety\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Page Six<\/a>, adding that he\u2019s had \u201ca lot of time to reflect\u201d on his drinking. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver time, his life changed and he reached a point where he felt comfortable making a different choice,\u201d the source explained, adding:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor him, that means moderation and being very conscious of his limits. The MMA legend got sober for his hilariously brief fight against Max Holloway, but he announced this week that he\u2019s back off the wagon in solidarity with Brad.<\/p>\n<p>McGregor tweeted that he would be downing some pints in support of his \u201cfellow actor,\u201d before urging Pitt to \u201ctake it easy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He later shared a video of a pint being poured in which he quipped, \u201cThis one\u2019s for you, Mucker!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Like Pitt, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2023\/06\/conor-mcgregor-accused-of-sexually-assaulting-woman-at-nba-finals-game\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">McGregor has been accused of violent and abusive behavior<\/a>, though in both cases, the allegations remain unproven.<\/p>\n<p>Angelina Jolie has long alleged that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2026\/07\/brad-pitt-resents-childrens-name-changes-blames-angelina-jolie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pitt became physically abusive <\/a>while he was drunk aboard a private jet flight in 2016. <\/p>\n<p>Again, given those circumstances, the fact that Pitt has decided to resume drinking is striking a sour note with many social media users.<\/p>\n<p>But addiction and recovery are different for everyone.
