The plaintiffs say a license was eventually obtained weeks after the album dropped, but there was a major problem with that agreement. Hirose claims it owned the rights to the song long before the album came out and that Holiday had already transferred his interest in the work decades ago.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In other words, the people suing Beyonc\u00e9 are basically saying, \u201cYou got permission from the wrong person.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>RELATED CONTENT: <a href=\"https:\/\/madamenoire.com\/1684775\/beyonce-morning-dew-donk-remix-jay-z\/\">\u2018We Just Gettin\u2019 Rich\u2019 \u2014 Jay-Z Drops His First New Verse In 5 Years On Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s Steamy \u2018Morning Dew (Donk)\u2019 Remix<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"listicle-slide\" data-page-number=\"1\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x\"\/>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And this is not the first time \u201cAlien Superstar\u201d has found itself in the legal hot seat.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.complex.com\/pop-culture\/a\/bernadette-giacomazzo\/beyonce-parkwood-legal-victory-alien-superstar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Complex<\/a><\/em> previously reported, Parkwood Entertainment scored a courtroom victory in an earlier lawsuit connected to the exact same sample. That case was dismissed after a federal judge determined that Hirose Enterprises did not legally exist when the original lawsuit was filed. The company filed the lawsuit on August 4, 2025, but was not officially formed until August 12, 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Talk about a technicality.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"listicle-slide\" data-page-number=\"2\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Still, the dismissal did not necessarily settle the underlying question of who actually owns \u201cMoonraker.\u201d Hirose\u2019s attorney previously indicated that the company was considering its next move, and <em>TMZ\u2019s<\/em> latest report suggests that the fight is continuing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hirose is now seeking an injunction that would stop the continued sale and monetization of the song, along with unspecified damages.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For now, Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s \u201cAlien Superstar\u201d remains available, but the legal drama surrounding its opening moments is proving to be almost as layered as the track itself.
