News, a grand jury indictment charged their son <\/span><strong>Nick<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight:400\"> <\/span><strong>Reiner<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1431363\/everything-thats-happened-since-rob-reiner-michele-reiners-murder\"><span style=\"font-weight:400\"> <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400\">with the murder of his parents<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight:400\"> at their Brentwood, Calif., home on Dec. 14, alleging that he intentionally killed his parents by means of lying in wait.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight:400\">&#8220;In legal terms, &#8216;lying in wait&#8217; refers to a situation where an individual intentionally hides or waits for an opportunity to ambush their victim with the intention of causing death,\u201d according to a definition by experts at the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.egattorneys.com\/lying-in-wait-murder\"><span style=\"font-weight:400\"> <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400\">Eisner Gorin legal defense firm<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight:400\">. &#8220;This premeditated action demonstrates a high level of malice and intent.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight:400\">In Nick\u2019s case, the indictment\u2014which was publicly released on Aug. 12\u2014 alleged that the 32-year-old \u201cpersonally used a deadly or dangerous weapon,\u201d in this case a knife, to carry out the murder.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight:400\">Los Angeles County District Attorney <\/span><strong>Nathan J.
