data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/peppa-pig\/\">Peppa Pig<\/a> travelled far, far away from <strong>Peppatown<\/strong> to go where no pig has ever gone before \u2013 space.<\/p>\n<p>Peppa joined in the fun ahead of <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2026\/08\/12\/solar-eclipse-2026-live-29349843\/\">Wednesday\u2019s solar eclipse<\/a>, during which the Moon will\u00a0obscure more than 90% of the Sun between 6.17pm and 8.06pm. <\/p>\n<p>It is the most significant eclipse since 1999, with millions counting down to it, purchasing eclipse glasses in their thousands and getting clued up on <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2026\/08\/12\/happens-look-a-solar-eclipse-without-glasses-bad-29360668\/\">safety guidance from experts<\/a> (no, you can\u2019t look at it with the naked eye, <em>and<\/em> it <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2026\/08\/12\/urgent-warning-avoid-watching-todays-solar-eclipse-phone-29357539\/\">might ruin your phone camera<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>So, Peppa decided to prove that pigs really can (sort of) fly by reaching an altitude of more than 100,000 feet herself.<\/p>\n<p>The beloved children\u2019s television character\u2019s unique mission was captured in full 4K resolution, beginning with her takeoff and ascent and culminating with her floating just above the planet\u2019s atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p>Peppa\u2019s one-time, out-of-this-world experience was screened at the NEC\u2019s Lakeside Cinema \u2013 home of the hands-on, walk-through experience <a href=\"https:\/\/peppapigspaceadventure.co.uk\/\">Peppa Pig Space Adventure<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img Adventure)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>During her flight, Peppa spotted the NEC from above, as well as other landmarks across the city and wider region.<\/p>\n<p>Teddy bear in hand, she was heard saying, \u2018This is so much fun!\u2019 before returning to Earth safely.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking afterwards, Sarah Harvey, Deputy CEO at the NEC, said: \u2018We\u2019re thrilled to have helped Peppa Pig complete her world-first journey into space to launch a summer of adventure at Peppa Pig Space Adventure at the NEC!<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It\u2019s important for us to continue to inspire curiosity and creativity in the younger generation, and this was a fantastic way of proving to young explorers that no dream is too big to achieve.<\/p>\n<section class=\"metro-comment-cta\"\/>\n<p>\u2018We can\u2019t wait to welcome more families to experience Peppa Pig Space Adventure this summer.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Eager to inspire children to use their imagination, Peppa Pig Space Adventure features rooms with stories where little explorers can play and discover, whether it be in Evie\u2019s nursery or the playroom.<\/p>\n<p>Children can also join the fun by designing a rocket for Peppa, with <a href=\"https:\/\/peppapigspaceadventure.co.uk\/competition\">a competition<\/a> inviting young artists to submit their own creations.<\/p>\n<p>The animated series launched in 2004 and has proven wildly popular, airing in over 180 countries, winning numerous broadcasting awards, and raking in billions with merchandise, theme parks, and <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" against <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/charli-xcx\/\">Charli XCX<\/a> last month, shortly after <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2026\/04\/26\/how-celebrities-fared-london-marathon-2026-cynthia-erivo-daddy-pig-28123175\/\">Daddy Pig became a household name<\/a> by running the London Marathon alongside the nation\u2019s PE teacher, <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/joe-wicks\/\">Joe
