She and husband Nicholas Riccio, 60, also share a two-year-old son.<\/p>\n<p>Leavitt\u2019s departure is one of many recent personnel shakeups in the Trump administration.<\/p>\n<p>In March, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2026\/03\/donald-trump-fires-kristi-noem-amid-endless-controversies-in-deparment-of-homeland-security\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kristi Noem was fired<\/a> from her post as secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. Just weeks later, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2026\/04\/pam-bondi-fired-as-attorney-general\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Attorney General Pam Bondi was also terminated<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And in May, Tulsi Gabbard announced her resignation as U.S. Director of National Intelligence, also citing a desire to spend more time with family.<\/p>\n<p>Leavitt addressed her decision in a statement of her own, describing it as a \u201cbittersweet\u201d choice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe truth is since returning to the White House after the birth of my daughter, I have felt in my heart that I cannot be the best mom my two young children deserve while devoting the constant time, energy, and attention required of the White House Press Secretary,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/117084211457388624\/embed\" class=\"truthsocial-embed\" style=\"max-width: 100%; border: 0\" width=\"600\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd that is why I have ultimately made the bittersweet decision to depart the White House and embark on a new chapter in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Leavitt has served as Trump\u2019s press secretary since he returned to the White House in January 2025. <\/p>\n<p>She previously worked as a press aide during his first administration and later became a prominent member of his 2024 campaign.<\/p>\n<p>She made history as the youngest person ever to serve as White House press secretary.<\/p>\n<p>Her departure comes at a particularly important time for the Trump administration, with the 2026 midterm elections approaching.<\/p>\n<p>Still, Trump indicated that Leavitt won\u2019t be disappearing from the political scene.<\/p>\n<p>He said she will remain one of his top outside advisers and continue to be an \u201cinfluential voice\u201d within the Republican Party as the administration works toward the midterms.<\/p>\n<p>For now, however, Leavitt appears ready to trade the White House briefing room for more time with her family.<\/p>\n<p>We will have further updates on this developing story as new information becomes available.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<script async=\"async\" data-cfasync=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/pl30214220.effectivecpmnetwork.com\/9ab3d4df8a7e1a6171e16ddbf732cc19\/invoke.js\"><\/script>\r\n<div id=\"container-9ab3d4df8a7e1a6171e16ddbf732cc19\"><\/div>\r\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reading Time: 2 minutes Karoline Leavitt is saying goodbye to the White House.
