Stallone&#8217;s involvement in TV has been amping up in recent years, most notably because of his starring role as Dwight Manfredi on the <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/tulsa-king-season-3-review\/\" target=\"_blank\">Paramount+ crime series <em>Tulsa King<\/em><\/a>. He also starred in the short-lived reality TV series <em>The Family Stallone<\/em>, and served as an executive producer on the reality TV show <em>Extracted<\/em>. He&#8217;ll also be an executive producer for the <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/tulsa-king-season-4-explained\/\" target=\"_blank\">upcoming <em>Frisco King <\/em>spinoff<\/a>, for which he&#8217;ll reprise his role as Manfredi.<\/p>\n<p> Now, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/08\/bourbon-and-lies-tv-series-sophia-stallone-mgm-tv-1237031400\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Deadline<\/a> <\/em>confirms that Stallone&#8217;s Balboa Productions will be teaming up with both Amazon&#8217;s MGM Television and Sophia Stallone&#8217;s Callisto Media for <em>Bourbon &amp; Lies<\/em>. The TV show is based on <em>The Bourbon Boys<\/em> romantic suspense novel series by Victoria Wilder, following former police officer Grant Foxx in the fictional town of Fiasco, Kentucky. While trying to live a quiet life, town newcomer Laney Young begins working at the Foxx family distillery, becoming closer with Grant. But, as time goes on, he uncovers a number of lies and suspenseful secrets from her past that could spell disaster.<\/p>\n<p>The show follows not only Laney&#8217;s past but Fiasco&#8217;s secrets, with her and Grant grappling with an ever-evolving truth that takes them places they never thought possible. The TV adaptation of the three-book series will be overseen by D. Matt Geller of Balboa Productions. As for the hands-on creative team, <em>The Flight Attendant <\/em>showrunners Meredith Lavender and Marcie Ulin serve as creators and executive producers. Sophia Stallone and Victoria Wilder released statements about the show&#8217;s production as well, teasing what to expect from the TV adaptation:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Sophia Stallone: <em>Bourbon &amp; Lies<\/em> was the kind of world I could immediately see on screen. It has romance, danger, heat, humor, family, mystery and a woman at the center whose past refuses to stay buried. I brought it to Balboa because it felt like exactly the kind of bold, addictive and emotionally charged storytelling female audiences are already driving into the mainstream.<\/p>\n<p>Victoria Wilder: It\u2019s truly an exciting time to witness book-to-screen adaptations within the romance genre. Seeing these characters and their stories brought to life on screen is something I had never expected. I truly feel lucky that this powerhouse team of women are the ones making it happen. There\u2019s no doubt in my mind that they\u2019re ready to deliver everyone\u2019s next series obsession.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Bourbon &amp; Lies<\/em>, the first book in Wilder&#8217;s <em>The Bourbon Boys <\/em>series, was a Number 1 bestseller on Amazon in 2024, following its release from publishing company Bloom Books. The announcement of the forthcoming TV show arrives as Wilder continues to expand it as a franchise: A spinoff series, <em>The Whiskey Women<\/em>, began in June of this year with the release of its first book, <em>Rumors &amp; Whiskey<\/em>. What&#8217;s interesting about <em>Bourbon &amp; Lies <\/em>is that it&#8217;s yet another Amazon book adaptation following a plethora of additional announcements over the last year. This includes the <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/fourth-wing-tv-show-confirmation-story-updates\/\" target=\"_blank\">upcoming <em>Fourth Wing <\/em>TV show<\/a>, based on Rebecca Yarros&#8217; <em>Empyrean <\/em>series. Holly Black&#8217;s fantasy quartet <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/holly-black-new-releases-faerie-universe-game-book-tarot-november-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Folk of the Air <\/em>is also getting an adaptation<\/a>, with Ridley Scott&#8217;s production company attached.<\/p>\n<p>As development of the series progresses, more information will likely be revealed on how similar or different <em>Bourbon &amp; Lies <\/em>will be to its book counterpart.
