Then comes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/justin-broadrick\/\" id=\"auto-tag_justin-broadrick\" data-tag=\"justin-broadrick\">Justin Broadrick<\/a>\u2018s pained growls: \u201cWipe out\/Suction\/Forlorn\/Evermore.\u201d This is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/godflesh\/\" id=\"auto-tag_godflesh\" data-tag=\"godflesh\">Godflesh<\/a> then, and this is Godflesh now as heard on the new single, \u201cLiving\/Ending,\u201d which recalls the industrial death rattle of the band\u2019s debut LP, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-lists\/the-100-greatest-metal-albums-of-all-time-113614\/godflesh-streetcleaner-1989-117684\/\">Streetcleaner<\/a><\/em>, but with the thickness of their <em>Slavestate <\/em>EP. The song is the first taste of what the band says will be its penultimate album, <em>Decay<\/em>, out Sept. 25.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn March, Broadrick revealed on <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DVem5y3iO40\">Instagram<\/a> that Godflesh would be retiring from touring following a devastating hernia surgery and that he could no longer scream the way Godflesh\u2019s music required. He alluded to the end of Godflesh in a statement released Wednesday. \u201cMusic, for me, is rarely complete, but it has to reach a point where enough is enough,\u201d he said. \u201cCreatively, there has to be self-discipline.
