{"id":41535,"date":"2026-08-12T20:09:24","date_gmt":"2026-08-12T15:09:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=41535"},"modified":"2026-08-12T20:09:24","modified_gmt":"2026-08-12T15:09:24","slug":"dakota-and-elle-fanning-had-a-fight-filming-the-nightgale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=41535","title":{"rendered":"Dakota and Elle Fanning Had a &#8216;Fight&#8217; Filming The Nightgale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script>\r\n  atOptions = {\r\n    'key' : '644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6',\r\n    'format' : 'iframe',\r\n    'height' : 90,\r\n    'width' : 728,\r\n    'params' : {}\r\n  };\r\n<\/script>\r\n<script src=\"https:\/\/www.highperformanceformat.com\/644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6\/invoke.js\"><\/script>\r\n<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Try as they might to remain professional, sisters <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/dakota-fanning\/\"><strong>Dakota<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/elle-fanning\/\"><strong>Elle Fanning<\/strong><\/a> had a sisterly squabble on the set of their new movie, <em>The Nightingale<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>During an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=iqX8RxAPT6s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">appearance<\/a> on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/shows\/tonight-show-starring-jimmy-fallon\/\"><em>The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/em><\/a> on Tuesday, August 11, Dakota, 32, spilled the beans on sharing the screen with younger sibling Elle, 28, for the very first time in the upcoming adaptation of <strong>Kristin Hannah<\/strong>\u2019s epic World War II novel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were quietly nervous about it,\u201d the <em>All Her Fault<\/em> actress admitted of working together. \u201cI think we didn\u2019t really want to tell the other one how nervous we were.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While Dakota said she and the <em>Margo\u2019s Got Money Troubles<\/em> star \u201ctotally acted in our playroom together\u201d when they were children, they had never acted together to this extent before.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were like, \u2018Are we gonna laugh? Like, are we gonna be able to keep it together?\u2019\u201d Dakota recalled. \u201cIt\u2019s the person that knows you best in the world that you\u2019re acting with, and we\u2019re super close. We were a little silently panicked.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was nervous because she had made it clear that I was not allowed to do any older sister behavior on set,\u201d she added. \u201cI had to treat her like I would treat any other actor. And I did, for the most part.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But towards the end of production, the sibling dynamic between the stars came out \u2014 much to the crew\u2019s delight.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut right towards the end, there was a scene we were doing \u2026 it was like this really hot room and we were on this couch, and I was like, \u2018Move your leg!\u2019\u201d Dakota said. \u201cAnd she was like, \u2018My leg has been here all day.\u2019 I was like, \u2018No, it hasn\u2019t. Get off of me. I\u2019m too hot. They were dying because it was so sisters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In <em>The Nightingale<\/em>, which the Fannings also coproduce, Dakota and Elle respectively play sisters Vianne Mauriac and Isabelle Rossignol, who find themselves resisting Nazi occupation in France during World War II in very different ways.
