So it made perfect sense that Captain Positive himself would hop on stage with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/mumford-sons\/\">Mumford &amp; Sons<\/a> on Tuesday night (Aug. 11) to help out on a rousing rendition of the Mumford-penned <em>Lasso<\/em> theme song.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAccording to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/jason-sudeikis-performs-ted-lasso-song-mumford-sons-concert-1236671796\/\">The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, about halfway through the group\u2019s Madison Square Garden gig, cameras panned to the audience and found a surprise guest in the form of the hit Apple TV series\u2019 co-creator and star, Jason Sudeikis, who was seen nodding his head and smiling to the familiar tune at first before sprinting to the stage to join in.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe crowd lost it as Sudeikis ran around the stage, slapping keyboard player Ben Lovett on the butt and then moseying up to lead singer Marcus Mumford to help shout along to the uplifting song\u2019s chorus: \u201c\u2018Cause, yeah, might be all that you get\/ Yeah, I guess this might well be it\/ But Heaven knows I\u2019ve tried,\u201d the two men sang face-to-face.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe show\u2019s theme song was co-written by Mumford singer Marcus Mumford and composer Tom Howe and sung by Mumford. The performance ended with Sudeikis and Mumford sharing a big, warm hug before the actor exited the stage to whoops of approval from the crowd.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<em>THR<\/em> reported that later in Tuesday\u2019s show, Mumford tried to get the audience to quiet down by threatening to \u201csick Ted on you.\u201d He also noted that he\u2019d worked on the soundtrack for the 2013 Coen Brothers movie musical\u00a0<em>Inside Llewyn Davi<\/em>s \u2014\u00a0which starred Oscar Isaac and the singer\u2019s wife, Carey Mulligan \u2014with Isaac coming out later in the gig to perform the film\u2019s folky \u201c<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/Db7S1x1PDZX\/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&amp;igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==\">Fare Thee Well (Dink\u2019s Song)<\/a>\u201d with the band.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<em>Ted Lasso<\/em> returned for its fourth season earlier this month, following a retired-from-coaching Lasso as he juggles being a Kansas City dad with the allure or returning to Richmond to coach the city\u2019s new women\u2019s soccer club.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe Sudeikis MSG cameo is in keeping with the actor\u2019s pop-out proclivity.
