He rose to the occasion for them last season, emerging as the Nets\u2019 undisputed alpha and posting career highs of 24.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But Porter will be entering the final year of his deal next season at $40.8 million. Porter is looking for a new long-term extension to reflect his dramatic increase in production and <a href=\"https:\/\/larrybrownsports.com\/basketball\/michael-porter-jr-contract-demands\/764964\">was recently reported to be targeting one contract number in particular<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unfortunately though, the Nets went a miserable 20-62 even despite Porter\u2019s stellar year. They also <a href=\"https:\/\/larrybrownsports.com\/basketball\/timberwolves-trading-julius-randle-in-offseason-stunner\/759210\">recently traded for another talented forward who is on an expiring contract of his own<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Porter was at least able to show off with Brooklyn what he could do as a true No. 1 option on offense.
