To join in with the discussions yourself email <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2026\/08\/12\/games-inbox-gta-6-ultimate-edition-worth-29355686\/mailto:gamecentral@metro.co.uk\">gamecentral@metro.co.uk<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ultimate incentive<\/strong><br \/>I\u2019m not too surprised to find out that the <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2026\/08\/11\/gta-6-90-ultimate-edition-outselling-standard-version-reveals-take-two-29349852\/\">Ultimate Edition of GTA 6<\/a> is the best-seller, after all that talk of the standard edition being \u00a3100, which is something I\u2019m sure Take-Two considered. I think they definitely made the right choice by not being so greedy \u2013 and there\u2019s not many video game companies you can say that for.<\/p>\n<p>The Ultimate Edition doesn\u2019t have anything super essential but there\u2019s a fair amount of interesting stuff in there and \u00a390 isn\u2019t that much more to know you have the best version. In reality there\u2019s no point in pre-ordering anyway, it\u2019s all just wanting the game to feel closer than it is and kind of showing your loyalty.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m not talking it down, I\u2019ve made my pre-order so I understand what it\u2019s all about, but I do think that Take-Two definitely made the right decision by using the carrot rather than the stick. Don\u2019t force people to spend a minimum of \u00a3100, just gently tempt them to spend an extra \u00a320.<br \/><strong>Zeiss<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Direct prediction<\/strong><br \/>I\u2019d say those <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2026\/08\/11\/zelda-switch-2-console-leaks-nintendo-direct-hopes-increase-this-month-29353909\/\">leaked Switch 2 console boxes<\/a> are definitely real, from what I can see of them. So given the rumours and the fact that it just makes sense, I\u2019m going to guess there\u2019s definitely going to be a Zelda branded Switch 2 this <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/christmas\/\">Christmas<\/a>. We might not have seen any raw gameplay for <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/grand-theft-auto-6\/\">GTA 6<\/a> yet, but we have had two trailers. Rockstar wouldn\u2019t show as little as <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/nintendo\/\">Nintendo<\/a>\u2019s shown of Zelda if it was going to be out next month. I\u2019m willing to bet a sizeable number of internet points that the Direct will be this month, for a launch in November.<\/p>\n<p>What I\u2019m not sure is whether it\u2019ll be at Gamescom, because at the end of August that is exactly the sort of time you\u2019d expect. But I don\u2019t think Nintendo would want to unveil anything at a relatively minor event like that, so my prediction is\u2026 next week! If I\u2019m right, remember you heard it here first!<br \/><strong>Gauntlett<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jawas before Jar Jar<\/strong><br \/>Your <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2026\/08\/11\/star-wars-zero-company-hands-on-preview-xcom-fights-clone-wars-29352336\/\">Star Wars Zero Company<\/a> was an interesting read about what sounds like a promising game. I do wonder why the game is being set in the prequel universe. Are diehard fans of the original trilogy not within the game\u2019s target demographic?<\/p>\n<p>With regards to Star Wars, I don\u2019t mind the prequels, those films featured some good action sequences and a scattering of iconic baddies, but with respect to any new Star Wars game I\u2019d rather have a story with the backdrop of Episodes IV, V, and VI. Give me a Jawa before you offer me Jar Jar any day of the week.<\/p>\n<p>Why didn\u2019t that Outlaws game let you play as Han Solo, then possibly it would have been a hit. Would the developers\/publishers have had to pay <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/harrison-ford\/\">Harrison Ford<\/a> for his likeness? The latest Indiana Jones game used his likeness.<br \/><strong>Michael Veal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>GC: <\/strong>An <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/andor\/\">Andor<\/a> style setting does seem the more obvious choice, but the game has a much more grounded tone than most Clone Wars media and we didn\u2019t see or hear any mention of Gungans in it.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Email your comments to: <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2026\/08\/12\/games-inbox-gta-6-ultimate-edition-worth-29355686\/mailto:gamecentral@metro.co.uk\">gamecentral@metro.co.uk<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The right kind of friends<\/strong><br \/>Glad to see Big Walk doing well, with <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2026\/08\/11\/highest-rated-game-2026-sells-1-000-000-copies-six-days-29350936\/\">1 million sold already<\/a>. It always seems a bit of a lottery as to whether these hyped indie games do well or not but I really like the sound of this one. I\u2019m just worried I haven\u2019t got enough friends to play with it.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s not as sad as it sounds, as I think I have a pretty average number of friends but the number of them that would want to play co-op in a puzzle exploration game are pretty limited. Maybe two of them, but neither has committed to playing or buying Big Walk.<\/p>\n<p>I think I will be able to talk at least one of them into it and since the game can apparently be played with just two people, I should be able to give it a go. But to me it kind of explains why so-called friendslop has done well. If people, mostly teenagers, are just playing it to socialise then it doesn\u2019t really matter what it is and in fact the dumber and less demanding the better.<\/p>\n<p>Something like Big Walk, where there\u2019s an actual game there, you have to have the right kind of people where they\u2019re willing to play properly.<br \/><strong>Jonesy<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"410\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/SEI_307993882-d69c.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=646\" class=\"article-image wp-image-29353304\" alt=\"Marvel's Wolverine DualSense controller\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>\t<\/div><figcaption>It\u2019s the best at what it does (Sony Interactive Entertainment)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Special consoles<br \/><\/strong>I don\u2019t really like the console but that<a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2026\/08\/11\/marvels-wolverine-ps5-console-revealed-dualsense-steals-show-29353196\/\"> yellow Wolverine DualSense<\/a> is actually really nice. I assume the whole component crisis is the main reason we haven\u2019t had many special edition consoles and hardware so far, so it\u2019s nice to see this one and the Zelda themed Switch 2.<\/p>\n<p>So much of this generation seems half-assed and like it hasn\u2019t really met the bare minimum of what you expect from the industry. I think Ghost Of Y\u014dtei might have had one but I genuinely can\u2019t remember any other special edition PlayStation 5s before this. It\u2019s not important, it doesn\u2019t change anything, but somehow it doesn\u2019t feel healthy not to have the option.<br \/><strong>Sarson<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>New retro<\/strong><br \/>Always appreciate your interviews with devs and looking forward to the one for Star Wars Zero Company. I particularly like the <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2026\/07\/31\/spectrum-white-edition-interview-it-smells-christmas-day-1984-29252880\/\">ZX Spectrum remake<\/a> one a few weeks ago and wondered if you would also be doing one for the Amiga 1200 they have coming out this Christmas?<\/p>\n<p>I never had an Amiga 1200, just a 500, and I think that was the same for most people. I assume they\u2019re just doing it as a novelty and so they can get the best graphics possible, but I\u2019m looking forward to it.<\/p>\n<p>I love my retro gaming, but especially when it\u2019s for the games I actually played as a kid. However, with this one I\u2019m most interested in how the fan scene has evolved. Making new C64 games always seemed a bit silly to me, give it\u2019s so restrictive \u2013 not that I don\u2019t admire the work anyway.<\/p>\n<p>But I think new Amiga games, especially on the 1200, could be really interesting. If you can have modern indie games purposefully looking like a Game Boy Color game then surely you can have an Amiga that looks at least as good as a SNES game?<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m going to start looking into the whole scene now and see what I can give a try when the computer comes out later in the year.<br \/><strong>Bootles<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>GC: <\/strong>Thanks, we\u2019ve been in contact about it and intend to do an interview with the makers, assuming the planets align properly.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wait and see<\/strong><br \/>The next Assassin\u2019s Creed games should be based on the Roman Empire. There are many time periods and countries to explore.<\/p>\n<p>You could hunt down the assassins of Julius Caesar or help with conquest of Gaul or even kill emperors. I\u2019m fine with a Zelda remake but at the same time I would\u2019ve been fine with them never doing anything like it. We know we\u2019ve got Pok\u00e9mon Winds and Waves next year, which after Pokopia is probably going to be especially big.<\/p>\n<p>What about what hasn\u2019t been announced? Luigi\u2019s Mansion 4 seems very overdue. The developer hasn\u2019t released anything in years and it\u2019s a great looking series that would be good for showing off the Switch 2. I definitely think it would\u2019ve been a better choice for this year than Fire Emblem, so that\u2019s a bit of a puzzle.<\/p>\n<p>Animal Crossing is also being handled very strangely and while it seems like it should be the Christmas 2027 game, I have my doubts given the Switch 2 Edition of New Horizons.<\/p>\n<p>A new 3D Super Mario, then? That would be good but then again if they had to wait till Donkey Kong Bananza was done before they started it, there hasn\u2019t been nearly enough time yet.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps it\u2019ll be Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Switch 2 Edition? It\u2019s even weirder that that hasn\u2019t been out yet so who can say, but surely they can\u2019t leave it much later.<\/p>\n<p>Splatoon 4? A new fitness game? There\u2019s so much stuff that seems so much obvious than a new Fire Emblem or Kirby\u2019s Air Ride, so in summary I haven\u2019t got a clue what they\u2019ll do next. But if I had to guess one for 2027, I\u2019d say Luigi\u2019s Mansion 4.<br \/><strong>Onibee<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Inbox also-rans<\/strong><br \/>If Kingdom Hearts 4 might get another reveal at D23, are we still thinking it\u2019s going to have a Star Wars world?
