{"id":39989,"date":"2026-08-12T04:00:15","date_gmt":"2026-08-11T23:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=39989"},"modified":"2026-08-12T04:00:15","modified_gmt":"2026-08-11T23:00:15","slug":"new-york-islanders-pick-their-top-8-fan-designed-jerseys-and-social-media-hates-them-all","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=39989","title":{"rendered":"New York Islanders pick their top 8 fan-designed jerseys and social media hates them all"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script>\r\n  atOptions = {\r\n    'key' : '644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6',\r\n    'format' : 'iframe',\r\n    'height' : 90,\r\n    'width' : 728,\r\n    'params' : {}\r\n  };\r\n<\/script>\r\n<script src=\"https:\/\/www.highperformanceformat.com\/644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6\/invoke.js\"><\/script>\r\n<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\" class=\"speakable\">Back in July, the <a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fnc_outkick-sports_article_main-content_article-body_6_1872035\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/sports\/nhl\/new-york-islanders\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New York Islanders<\/a> announced plans to toss fans the keys and let them take a crack at designing the team&#8217;s next third jersey.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\" class=\"speakable\">I figured at the time that it would mean <a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fnc_outkick-sports_article_main-content_article-body_6_1872036\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/outkick-sports\/islanders-want-fans-design-third-jersey-maybe-wont-complain-time\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fans couldn&#8217;t complain<\/a> about this third jersey \u2014 as they did about so many jerseys the Isles have worn \u2014 if they were the ones responsible for the masterpiece or abomination.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">Well, how wrong I was, because the team has unveiled the eight finalists, one of which will be selected by way of a bracket, and social media hates all the options.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\"><a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fnc_outkick-sports_article_main-content_article-body_6_1872037\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/outkick-sports\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>CLICK HERE FOR MORE OUTKICK SPORTS COVERAGE<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">None of those are offensively awful&#8230; but none seem that exciting.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">If I had to pick one because my life depended on it \u2014 and man, what a terrible stroke of luck that would be, huh? \u2014 I would probably go with the one all the way on the bottom right.
