When Laney begins working at the Foxx family distillery, she pulls Grant back into a world of instinct, suspicion and desire. What begins as distrust turns into something far more combustible as their pasts collide, the town\u2019s mythology darkens, and the truth threatens to burn through everything they are trying to protect.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Bourbon &amp; Lies<\/em>\u00a0will be produced by Callisto Media &amp; Balboa Productions, with D. Matt Geller overseeing for the latter company. <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/meredith-lavender\/\" id=\"auto-tag_meredith-lavender\" data-tag=\"meredith-lavender\">Meredith Lavender<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/marcie-ulin\/\" id=\"auto-tag_marcie-ulin\" data-tag=\"marcie-ulin\">Marcie Ulin<\/a>, who showran and exec produced HBO Max\u2019s hit series\u00a0<em>The Flight Attendant<\/em>\u00a0for its first season, are the show\u2019s creators and will exec produce. Sophia Stallone, who originated the project for television and brought the IP to Balboa, will produce through Callisto, continuing her focus on female-driven literary adaptations with strong genre hooks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Marking the first book in Wilder\u2019s\u00a0<em>Bourbon Boys<\/em>\u00a0series, <em>Bourbon &amp; Lies<\/em> was an Amazon No. 1 bestseller that released with Bloom Books in 2024. Contemporary romance author Wilder has sold international rights to the books in more than a dozen territories, with the spin-off series\u00a0<em>The Whiskey Women<\/em>\u00a0launching with\u00a0<em>Rumors &amp; Whiskey<\/em>\u00a0this past June.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement to Deadline, Sophia Stallone said, \u201c<em>Bourbon &amp; Lies<\/em>\u00a0was the kind of world I could immediately see on screen. It has romance, danger, heat, humor, family, mystery and a woman at the center whose past refuses to stay buried. I brought it to Balboa because it felt like exactly the kind of bold, addictive and emotionally charged storytelling female audiences are already driving into the mainstream.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wilder told us, \u201cSeeing\u00a0<em>Bourbon &amp; Lies<\/em>\u00a0move toward television with Callisto Media, Balboa Productions, MGM Television, Meredith and Marcie is incredibly exciting. This series has always been about more than romance or suspense. It is about secrets, family, survival, desire and the ways people rebuild themselves after everything they thought they knew comes apart. Balboa feels like the perfect home for that kind of story.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to their work alongside Steve Yockey on <em>The Flight Attendant<\/em>, Lavender and Ulin apreviously exec produced ABC\u2019s\u00a0<em>Nashville<\/em>, earning a WGA nomination for New Series, with additional credits including\u00a0<em>The Gifted<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Covert Affairs<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Charlie\u2019s Angels<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Missing<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Defying Gravity<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>The Lake<\/em>. Active across the thriller, romance, mystery and action genres, they\u2019re under a first-look deal with MGM Television, and are now serving as consulting producers on Amazon\u2019s upcoming romance\u00a0<em>Rose Hill<\/em>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of their draw to\u00a0<em>Bourbon &amp; Lies<\/em>, the duo said, \u201cVictoria has created a world that is sexy, dangerous, funny and emotionally loaded.
