Is it from last year? Is it from 10 years ago, is it from 20 years ago, is it from 5 years in the future? It\u2019s trying to create something that has its own sound, not tapping into whatever musical language or history you\u2019re familiar with. It goes way, way further back. This is the sound of planets dying or of stars being born. It\u2019s about a bigger picture. It\u2019s the sound of the birth of the universe and the death of the universe; it\u2019s not rock and roll.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lombardo added, \u201cI\u2019m very proud of this collaboration because it\u2019s so different from anything else that I\u2019ve done. And to create this body of work with Lustmord \u2014 this guy is legendary! He rattles the plaster off of venues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Related Video<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPaleomagnetic Resonance\u201d is a brooding atmospheric drone track, leaning on quite spacious approaches to noise. Lombardo\u2019s presence is more abstract than people familiar with his work may be used to, providing synth textures and occasional percussion that is finely attuned to the implication of seething earth and ocean rather than the high-intensity thrash he made his name performing.<\/p>\n<p>Lustmord Lombardo joins the drummer\u2019s more abstract and experimental projects such as Fant\u00f4mas or his collaborations with John Zorn.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Pulse of Atoms<\/em> is currently available for <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/4xue0Fh\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">pre-order here<\/a>.
