Now, fresh off the release of their new album <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2026\/06\/death-cab-for-cutie-drop-new-album-i-built-you-a-tower\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>I Built You a Tower<\/em><\/a>, they return as a full band, adding Dave Depper on guitar and Jason McGerr on drums. They opened their set with two cuts from <em>I Built You a Tower<\/em>, \u201cPep Talk\u201d and the wistful \u201cStone Over Water.\u201d They then shifted gears for some older tunes, dusting off <em>Transatlanticism<\/em>\u2018s \u201cTitle and Registration\u201d and closing out the show with the\u00a0<em>Plans<\/em> cut \u201cSoul Meets Body.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/vivid-seats.pxf.io\/c\/1882189\/952533\/12730?subId1=death-cab-for-cutie%2Atiny-desk-button&amp;subId2=&amp;subId3=&amp;sharedid=&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.vividseats.com%2Fdeath-cab-for-cutie-tickets%2Fperformer%2F2610\" class=\"button button-ticket\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Get Death Cab for Cutie Tickets Here<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lot of [our songs] are becoming oldies now,\u201d Gibbard said before \u201cTitle and Registration.\u201d \u201cI\u2019m starting to realize that some of our earlier records came out a similar distance away from, like, the Beatles records when I was a kid.\u201d Depper responded by telling Gibbard to \u201cstop that,\u201d to which he responded: \u201cThat\u2019s how time works, Dave.\u201d Later, before playing \u201cSoul Meets Body,\u201d Gibbard jokingly introduced the song as \u201ca Napalm Death cover,\u201d alluding to the grindcore band\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2026\/07\/napalm-death-npr-tiny-desk-concert\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recent Tiny Desk debut<\/a>. They also concluded their 2026 North American tour in support of\u00a0<em>I Built You a Tower<\/em>, with shows still to come at Seattle\u2019s Bumbershoot, a date supporting Twenty One Pilots in Ohio, and a headlining show at the Salt Shed in Chicago.
