(RTL said business at Fremantle would pick up by year end with the roll out of new productions, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/baywatch-reboot-fox-2026-27-1236377879\/\">including its <em>Baywatch<\/em> reboot<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cOur streaming businesses deliver strong profitability,\u201d said RTL Group CEO Cl\u00e9ment Schwebig in a statement. \u201cSreaming revenue and paid subscriptions continue to grow dynamically. As a result, streaming is now expected to contribute around \u20ac100 million ($115 million) to our full-year operating profit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tRTL\u2019s results are the first since it\u2019s<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/business\/business-news\/rtl-group-to-buy-sky-deutschland-from-comcast-1236301107\/\"> acquisition of pay-TV group Sky Deutschland <\/a>from Comcast closed June 1. The deal will see Sky Deutschland merge with RTL+, creating a streaming operating with 12.4 million paid subscriptions across Germany, Austria and Switzerland,<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cWe are now the clear number three in the German-speaking streaming market,\u201d said Schwebig, who called the Sky Deutschland deal \u201ctransformational\u201d for RTL. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cWe confirm our target to deliver \u20ac 250 million ($289 million) in annual synergies within three years. Our transformation strategy is delivering tangible results, and we are executing it with speed and discipline. Including the effects from the Sky Deutschland acquisition, we expect to grow to between \u20ac7.1 billion and \u20ac7.2 billion ($8.2 billion \u2013 $8.3 billion) in full-year revenue with an adjusted EBITA of \u20ac725 million ($837 million).\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tRTL\u2019s Sky Deutschland acquisition is part of a broader wave of consolidation across the European broadcasting market. Last month, Comcast\u2018s Sky in the U.K. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/business\/business-news\/sky-buy-itv-networks-streaming-business-comcast-1236521331\/\">inked a $2.13 billion (\u00a31.6 billion) deal <\/a>to acquire the media and entertainment (M&amp;E) unit of commercial broadcast giant ITV. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tLast year, MediaForEurope (MFE), the TV group controlled by the Berlusconi family, took majority control of ProSiebenSat.1, Germany\u2019s number two commercial TV group, adding to MFE\u2019s European network stable, that already includes Italy\u2019s largest broadcaster, Mediaset, and Spain\u2019s No. 1 commercial network Telecinco.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe merger mania is on the production side too. On July 9, French production giant Banijay, producers of <em>Peaky Blinders<\/em>, <em>Big Brother<\/em>, and <em>MasterChef<\/em>,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/business\/business-news\/banijay-all3media-merger-traitors-black-mirror-bassetti-1236643830\/\"> joined up with and U.K. production powerhouse All3Media <\/a>(<em>The Traitors<\/em>, <em>Squid Game: The Challenge<\/em>) in a deal with an enterprise value of $8 billion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tFrench broadcaster TF1 has reportedly put its production and distribution arm, Studio TF1, on the market. A sale the division, formerly known as Newen Studios, could fetch up to $450 million.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAnd ITV Studios, producers of <em>Love Island<\/em> and <em>I\u2019m a Celebrity\u2026Get Me Out of Here!<\/em>, newly independent in the wake of ITV network\u2019s sale to Sky, could also be a takeover target, as well as a potential buyer.
