To them, that\u2019s what makes a hero, and that\u2019s someone who gets punched so many times but still gets up. So they keep finding new ways to kick his butt. And this one was brutal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tIn addition to Evans, the upcoming film\u2019s stacked cast includes many Marvel superheroes from the legacy Avengers and X-Men to the Thunderbolts and The Fantastic Four. They\u2019re all expected to team up to face off against villain Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tWhile chatting with <em>People<\/em> at <a data-id=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/marvel-studios-doomsday-comic-con-panel-recap-1236656358\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/marvel-studios-doomsday-comic-con-panel-recap-1236656358\/\">Comic-Con 2026 last month<\/a>, directors Anthony and Joe Russo said they knew Downey Jr. was <a data-id=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/robert-downey-jr-doctor-doom-voice-russo-brothers-chills-1236657698\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/robert-downey-jr-doctor-doom-voice-russo-brothers-chills-1236657698\/\">perfect for the villain role once they heard the voice<\/a> the Oscar winner had crafted for the character.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cThat was something that Robert surprised us with one day,\u201d Anthony recalled. \u201cYou know, we were talking about all the details of the character \u2014 the voice, of course, is a key part of it, especially in the mask.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cSo one day I think it was in the trailer, we were just sort of talking about some ideas and he broke out into the voice.
