I know, I was pretty shocked too. That takes me back a bit to that pre-Covid world where the games industry seemed to be on the right path and that even when things went wrong, like with No Man\u2019s Sky\u2019s launch, they got fixed.<\/p>\n<p>Kudos to <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2023\/12\/08\/light-no-fire-new-game-makers-no-mans-sky-19945096\/\">Hello Games<\/a> for putting in the hard work and as a fan I will definitely say that it is worth playing and that it is 100 times better now than when it first came out. Plus, there\u2019s a new free update they\u2019ve just released, called Cosmos, just for the anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes you\u2019ve got to have patience and although that doesn\u2019t excuse the state it launched in, at this point they\u2019ve made up for it and more. I think that\u2019s a lot more than you can say for other publishers that have been dishonest with their customers. So happy birthday No Man\u2019s Sky and here\u2019s to another 10 years.<br \/><strong>Canin<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Long tail<\/strong><br \/>Interesting words from the Take-Two boss about <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2026\/08\/10\/gta-online-will-not-end-gta-6-take-two-addresses-multiplayer-29342623\/\">GTA 6\u2019s multiplayer<\/a>. He didn\u2019t say what it\u2019s going to be, but he did seem to confirm that it\u2019s going to be separate to GTA Online, so the idea that they\u2019re going to upgrade GTA Online but basically keep it as the multiplayer seems to not be the case.<\/p>\n<div class=\"factbox\" data-ico=\"factbox_article\" data-track-module=\"factbox_article\">\n<h2 class=\"factbox-title\">\n\t\t\t\tExpert, exclusive gaming analysis\t\t\t<\/h2>\n<div class=\"factbox-content\">\n<p>Sign up to the <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/newsletters\/game-central\/\"><strong>GameCentral newsletter<\/strong><\/a> for a unique take on the week in gaming, alongside the latest reviews and more. I\u2019m not so sure, but there\u2019s no way GTA 6 isn\u2019t going to have a massive online mode of some sort. It\u2019s actually quite hard to guess what they\u2019re going to do, but I\u2019m sure they\u2019ve got a plan. I\u2019m sure that everything to do with GTA 6 is actually designed around the online, not the story campaign.<\/p>\n<p>No one seems to be in a hurry to reveal what\u2019s going on though, so while GTA Online keeps churning over, bringing in the money, they seem to be taking it slow and are pushing GTA 6 as a single-player game, for this year at least. What you can say is that GTA 6 is not going to be a flash in the pan.<br \/><strong>Zeiss<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Big recommendation<\/strong><br \/>I got to the credits of Big Walk with two friends last night. What a fantastic game. The end section in particular is an absolutely outstanding achievement in gaming. One of the all-time experiences.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve still got a bunch more to do in game and we\u2019ll definitely come back to finish it off.<\/p>\n<p>I usually avoid voice chat in games, but I\u2019m glad I gave this a go. We started just two of us playing, then added a third. I would like to see what the game\u2019s like with larger groups, probably more chaotic but at least there\u2019d be a better chance of someone having a light for those very dark nights.<\/p>\n<p>I encourage everyone to try and find at least one other person who they can play with and give Big Walk a go.<br \/><strong>Euclidian Boxes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Merry-go-round<\/strong><br \/>Saw this video and thought people here would be interested in it. I\u2019ve heard the theory that <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/10\/04\/silent-hill-2-remake-review-thinking-persons-survival-horror-21732505\/\">Silent Hill 2<\/a> is a sequel, not a remake, a few times before, but as much as I enjoyed the remake I didn\u2019t really pick up on that as a possibility. I did notice that some things were different from the original, but I just thought that was artistic licence.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019re spoilers in the video, so I won\u2019t go into any detail, but if you\u2019ve played the game before I think you\u2019ll find it very interesting the way it all seems to add up. If you haven\u2019t played the game, I would very much recommend it and if you watch the video I think you\u2019ll be impressed by the amount of detail Bloober Team put into it.<\/p>\n<p>I know they get a lot of stick for the quality of their other games but for me they did Silent Hill 2 proud. The best thing about this sequel theory is that it\u2019s not even necessarily true. The video makes it seem that way but it\u2019s all up to your interpretation and I hope <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/konami\/\">Konami<\/a> never gives an official answer as to what\u2019s going.<br \/><strong>Cobalt84<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\">\n<p>\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Silent Hill 2 Remake Is a Sequel\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/b_QU2yTMDoE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p><strong>Dutch uncle<\/strong><br \/>I don\u2019t really know what to say about <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2026\/08\/10\/1666-amsterdam-hands-on-preview-assassins-creed-creator-casts-a-spell-29337399\/\">1666: Amsterdam<\/a>, other than I\u2019ve never heard of it before, it sounds pretty weird, and also pretty janky. I\u2019m not really a fan of the idea of releasing a single-player game half-made into early access. You can\u2019t argue with Baldur\u2019s Gate 3 and Hades 2 though, so I\u2019ll guess I\u2019ll keep an eye on it.<\/p>\n<p>I would\u2019ve been much more interested if it skewed closer to Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time though, instead of Assassin\u2019s Creed. If he made that I\u2019m surprised the platforming side of the Amsterdam game seems so bad. Also, we don\u2019t really need more Assassin\u2019s Creed but we sure could do with more 3D platformers like Sands Of Time.<br \/><strong>Murphy2<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Drone attack<\/strong><br \/>I love that that <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2026\/08\/10\/doom-dev-criticises-xbox-studio-layoffs-morale-never-lower-29341233\/\">id Software dev<\/a> really ripped into <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/microsoft\/\">Microsoft<\/a> and publishers in general. Of course they don\u2019t understand art. These people are just robots\u2026 corporate drones. They don\u2019t seem to understand any kind of human emotion or the concept that not everyone is as rich as them.<\/p>\n<p>The only time I ever heard anyone at Microsoft saying they were upset about laying off thousands of people is when one of them said we should feel bad for Phil Spencer, for having to do it. These people can only think about their own well-being, not their employees, not their customers, and definitely not the games industry as a whole.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not just Microsoft either, it\u2019s all of them. They\u2019ll see the whole of gaming go the way of the dodo if it meant they could just make a bit more money this year, because who cares about what happens afterwards?<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s nothing we can do about this either. You could try and play nothing but indie and retro games but even using a PC you\u2019re probably using Microsoft products. There\u2019s Linux and SteamOS but only the super hardcore are going to do that, so we\u2019re just stuck giving money to these awful companies, that treat us like dirt.<\/p>\n<p>How many of us buy and play <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/ea-sports-fc\/\">EA Sports FC<\/a> and look at what EA has become now. I don\u2019t want to give them a penny of my money, but will I really have the strength not to?<br \/><strong>Walker<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Busy day<\/strong><br \/>Good morning readers! Please can we give a bit of pre-emptive love for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy.<\/p>\n<p>The trailer looked amazing, the last two games were outstanding, and the next is out in two weeks! Cannot wait! What\u2019s that?! GTA6 trailer preview out that day too?! Pffft to that!<br \/><strong>Sid Spector<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>GC:<\/strong> That\u2019s also the same day <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/star-wars\/\">Star Wars<\/a> Zero Company is out.<\/em><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\">\n<p>\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy - Fierce &amp; Lethal\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CESgn-sKEzc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p><strong>First questions<\/strong><br \/>I\u2019m hoping any day now we get an annoucement for a Zelda Direct, although I realise it could easily not be until next month I can\u2019t believe it will be any longer than that, unless it\u2019s been delayed into next year.<\/p>\n<p>I have so many questions about the game, but first of all whether it\u2019s a 1:1 remake with the original, like Star Fox, or if it\u2019s something that will mess with the design a bit. I wonder, for example, whether they will try and give a bigger role for Zelda. She seems to have joint top billing in the movie and Ocarina Of Time technically has a more active role for her (do I need to hide spoilers in such an old game?) but I think it would be quite easy to make those bits playable, when they weren\u2019t before.<\/p>\n<p>The other question is how are they going to handle the fact that the game world is tiny, by modern standards? Is Hyrule Field going to be more or less the same size as it was before or will it be a massive Breath Of The Wild style area? I guess that would be the best idea but it\u2019s going to be a bit of a change \u2013 although maybe not as I think those of us that played it at the time remember it as being massive even if it wasn\u2019t really.<\/p>\n<p>If the two seconds of footage they\u2019ve shown is accurate then the art style seems to be mostly realistic, with just a hint of cartoonish, but I\u2019m curious to see how far they\u2019ll go with some of the stranger things. And will that style carry over to the next mainline game? There\u2019s so many questions to ask and <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/nintendo\/\">Nintendo<\/a> seems in no rush to answer them.<br \/><strong>Gaston<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Inbox also-rans<\/strong><br \/>All I ever hear about PC versions of console games is poor performance and bugs. Marvel T\u014dkon: Fighting Souls is just the latest in a very long list. Ther\u2019s no way I\u2019d buy a PC when all this is so common.<br \/><strong>Prince<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Never mind the <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2026\/08\/10\/steam-hardware-hit-cyberattack-valve-warns-fake-messages-29344677\/\">cyberattack<\/a>, I\u2019m just shocked there was anyone in the UK that actually ordered a Steam Machine.
