href=\"https:\/\/www.the-sun.com\/who\/howard-stern\/\">Stern<\/a>\u2018s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-sun.com\/topic\/sirius-xm-radio\/\">SiriusXM<\/a> staffers who were let go during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-sun.com\/entertainment\/16804527\/howard-stern-fired-radio-show-staffers-two-layoffs\/\">first round of layoffs in February<\/a> were integral to the radio icon\u2019s href=\"https:\/\/www.the-sun.com\/entertainment\/16742048\/howard-stern-show-channel-canceled-layoffs\/\">two dedicated SiriusXM streaming channels<\/a>; Howard 100, the home of his live shows and new content, while Howard 101 plays old interviews and clips from his show\u2019s 20-year history.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lot the staff who were laid off in the first round worked for his 101 channel,\u201d a gutted the team, it seems more than likely that Sirius will be keeping the main Howard 100 channel and ultimately parting ways with 101,\u201d the source continued.<\/p>\n<p>After a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-sun.com\/entertainment\/16705779\/howard-stern-show-stars-fired-benjy-bronk-memet-walker\/\">second round of layoffs in July<\/a>, Stern\u2019s team was told in a Zoom call that their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-sun.com\/tv\/16693472\/howard-stern-show-down-one-show-week-staff-cuts\/\">marquee talent would be taking his live shows down to just one<\/a> day a week. <\/p>\n<p>The insider said that on the heels of that announcement, the future for the two channels has become clear.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSoon, since there is so little new content, production will be href=\"https:\/\/www.the-sun.com\/topic\/sirius-xm-radio\/\">SiriusXM<\/a> show did not immediately respond to requests for comment.<\/p>\n<p>As The U.S. Sun previously revealed, many behind-the-scenes staff at The Howard Stern Show were quietly let go in the wake of his December SiriusXM contract renewal.<\/p>\n<p>The massive downsizing of Stern\u2019s staff started on February 12, less than two months after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-sun.com\/entertainment\/16156770\/howard-stern-new-deal-video-platform-siriusxm\/\">host inked his new three-year deal<\/a> with the streaming giant. <\/p>\n<p>Because the initial round of layoffs targeted off-air crew, the changes largely flew under the radar for listeners.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey let all these people go, and it was like, \u2018Nothing to see here,\u2019 since none of the people were on the air,\u201d a source pointed out.<\/p>\n<p>Another insider noted that the early February cuts were substantial, claiming, \u201cAt least 40 people were let go.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A second wave hit on July 13, eliminating another 16 jobs. <\/p>\n<p>This time, the pink slips extended to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-sun.com\/entertainment\/16759954\/howard-stern-show-host-rahsaan-rogers-fired-layoffs\/\">at least five on-air employees<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Negotiating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-sun.com\/entertainment\/16771714\/howard-stern-fired-staffers-fight-severance-pay\/\">exit packages with SiriusXM human resources<\/a> proved challenging for many affected staffers. <\/p>\n<p>Several employees reportedly rejected the company\u2019s initial severance offer, which amounted to roughly one week of pay for every year worked, though a few managed to secure better terms.<\/p>\n<p>The sudden shift in format and staff has sparked backlash among long-time listeners, with many <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-sun.com\/entertainment\/16736058\/howard-stern-show-cancel-siriusxm-subscriptions-layoffs\/\">threatening to cancel their subscriptions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<script
