The West is a<em> PAPER TIGER<\/em>, the Communists always said. It\u2019s funny because <strong>Trump<\/strong> has used the term several times in the news lately, and it\u2019s very much a term from the era in which he surfaced. In the movie, Gary is telling Irwin that the Russians are Paper Tigers, but he might be talking about himself. Good directing is essentially giving the actors space to let them do what they can do \u2014 it\u2019s not about me. I let them improvise as much as they want. I rolled camera on every rehearsal so any mistake they made that was good was saved for posterity.
