The announcement was made by John Murdy, the creative director and executive producer of Halloween Horror Nights at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/universal-studios\/\" id=\"auto-tag_universal-studios_1\" data-tag=\"universal-studios\">Universal Studios<\/a> Hollywood during a panel at\u00a0Midsummer<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/midsummerscream.org\/\"\/>Scream\u00a0on Sunday. The audience <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@stevengoessomewhere\/video\/7672210239009099038\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">was told by<\/a> Nikki added very late in the event\u2019s planning process: \u201cNikki is out there somewhere, you need to get into a Where\u2019s Waldo?-type mentality,\u201d Murdy said. \u201cShe might be looking for her next obsession, and I\u2019ll leave it at that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tMesmerizingly played by Inde Navarrette in the film, Nikki is cursed after her friend-zoned co-worker uses a One Wish Willow to wish that she would love him more than anybody else in the world.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tSome of the fan reactions to the announcement on Reddit included, \u201cGreat worker, won\u2019t even take bathroom breaks\u201d and \u201cPacks her own lunches too!\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThat said, the character is a somewhat eyebrow-raising addition to Universal Hollywood\u2019s otherwise campy, monster-filled lineup because \u2014 unlike the villains who typically roam horror attractions \u2014 Nikki is the innocent victim of the extremely dark consequences of her friend\u2019s wish, with much of the film playing more like a psychological thriller.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tIn an <a href=\"https:\/\/attractionsmagazine.com\/obsessions-nikki-halloween-horror-nights-hollywood\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">apparent acknowledgment<\/a> of this, Universal\u2019s press release described Nikki as\u00a0\u201cthe latest victim of the One Wish Willow\u2019s terrifying curse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<em>Obsession<\/em> was written and directed by first-time feature filmmaker Curry Barker and grossed an incredible $475 million globally on only a $750,000 production budget. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tHalloween Horror Nights starts Aug. 28, at Universal <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.universalorlando.com\/hhn\/en\/us\"\/>Orlando and on Sept. 3 at Universal Studios Hollywood.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/www.tiktok.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<br \/><script async=\"async\" data-cfasync=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/pl30214220.effectivecpmnetwork.com\/9ab3d4df8a7e1a6171e16ddbf732cc19\/invoke.js\"><\/script>\r\n<div id=\"container-9ab3d4df8a7e1a6171e16ddbf732cc19\"><\/div>\r\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Universal\u2019s annual Halloween Horror Nights is looking like an even scarier place to have a nice daaaate.
